Yokohama is the second largest city in Japan by population,[citation needed] and the capital and largest city of Kanagawa Prefecture. Yokohama is a major economic, cultural, and commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area.
As of March 2024, Yokohama has 11 completed buildings over 150 meters (492 feet), and 44 completed buildings over 100 meters (328 feet). There are 4 more buildings over 150 meters under construction.
The tallest building in Yokohama is the Yokohama Landmark Tower, built in 1993. At 296 meters (972 feet), it nearly reaches the height required to be classified as a supertall skyscraper, at 300 meters (984 feet). At the time of its completion, it was the tallest building in Japan. It is currently the third tallest building in the country.[citation needed]
