Hokkaido is the northernmost prefecture of Japan and the largest by area. As of March 2024, Sapporo has 2 completed buildings above 150 meters (492 feet) and 22 completed buildings above 100 meters (328 feet).
The first high-rise to be built in Sapporo that reached 100 meters tall was the Sapporo Center Building in 1987. From 2000, an increasing number of high-rise buildings were built.
The tallest building in Sapporo is the 175 m (574 ft) ONE Sapporo Station Tower, completed in 2023. The second tallest building is the 173 m (568 ft) Sapporo JR Tower, which was formerly the tallest building between 2003 and 2023.
