Jivina (Mladá Boleslav District)
Jivina is a municipality and village in Mladá Boleslav District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 500 inhabitants. EtymologyThe name is derived from the word jíva (i.e. 'goat willow'), meaning "goat willow grove".[2] GeographyJivina is located about 14 kilometres (9 mi) north of Mladá Boleslav and 58 km (36 mi) northeast of Prague. It lies in the Jizera Table. The highest point is at 326 m (1,070 ft) above sea level. The Jizera River flows along the eastern municipal border and the Zábrdka Stream flows along the western municipal border. HistoryThe first written mention of Jivina is from 1400.[3] Demographics
