Gary Hicks (politician)
Gary W. Hicks Jr is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives from the 9th district. He assumed office on December 21, 2015. Early life and educationHicks was born in Rogersville, Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.[1] CareerHicks worked as a network administrator for Rural Health Services. He has also worked as a technology director.[2] Hicks was appointed to the Tennessee House of Representatives on December 21, 2015.[3] Hicks also serves as chair of the House Finance, Ways and Means Subcommittee.[4] In 2023, Hicks supported a resolution to expel Democratic lawmakers from the legislature for violating decorum rules. The expulsion was widely characterized as unprecedented.[5] References
