GAZ-3307
The GAZ-3307 is a truck manufactured by the Soviet/Russian vehicle manufacturer Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod. The model was developed in 1989 on the basis of the GAZ-53. Under the designation GAZ-3309, there is a variant of the vehicle with an extended wheelbase and modified engine. The GAZ-3308 is the all-wheel-drive version that is also used for military purposes. More than 1,5 million GAZ-3307s were built, and in January 2020, production ceased after 31 years. Since 2014, a successor has been produced in the form of the GAZon NEXT. History and developmentIn October 1989, GAZ launched the new GAZ-3307 model, which featured a V8 gasoline engine, a new cabin, and the chassis of its predecessor, the GAZ-53. The following year, the derivative models GAZ-33075 and GAZ-33076 appeared, both of which have the ZMZ-513 engine. This engine was equipped for LPG propulsion in the GAZ-33075 and natural gas propulsion in the GAZ-33076, but both models are capable of burning gasoline with at least 80 octane at the same time.[1][2][3] In 1994, the GAZ-3309 was introduced. This truck has an extended wheelbase and a four-cylinder diesel engine, the cylinders of which are arranged in line. Occasionally, Japanese supplier engines and six-cylinder diesel engines were also installed. In 1999, the GAZ-3310 "Valdai" was developed on the basis of the chassis of the GAZ-3307. Around 2007, a variant with a revised design based on the GAZ-3309 was introduced, the vehicle is known as "Dobrynja" (Russian: Добрыня). It is unclear whether series production took place. The successor to the GAZ-3307 is the GAZon NEXT, which was introduced in 2014 and has been in series production since then. The GAZ-3307 was no longer included in the manufacturer's vehicle range from about 2016, but was still available on order. The GAZ-3309, on the other hand, was offered unchanged. In January 2020, production of both models was discontinued in favor of the respective successors. Many other models were produced over the course of the 31-year production period, which were identified by numbers appended to the basic designation GAZ-3307. In the case of special bodies, there was also a complete deviation from the typing. A total of 1.5 million units were built, of which at least 900,000 were for the Russian market. The KAvZ-3976 bus was also produced on the basis of the GAZ-3307, which took over the chassis and part of the body. The engine was also installed in different variants of the GAZ-3307. ModelsMultiple variants of the GAZ-3307 and -3309 were released:
