Buaraba, Queensland
Buaraba is a rural locality in the Somerset Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, Buaraba had a population of 170 people.[1] GeographyBuaraba Creek flows through from west to south-east. Most of Ravensbourne National Park is within the locality.[3] The Esk-Hampton Road (State Route 85) runs along the north-western boundary, and the Gatton Esk Road passes through the eastern part. HistoryBuaraba Provisional School opened on 1922. In January 1936, it became Buaraba State School. It closed in 1966.[4] The school was at 421 Buaraba Creek Road (27°21′47″S 152°19′16″E / 27.3631°S 152.32112°E).[5][6] The school building is still extant.[7] DemographicsIn the 2016 census, Buaraba had a population of 181 people.[8] In the 2021 census, Buaraba had a population of 170 people.[1] EducationThere are no schools in Buaraba.
