Adamjee Cantonment Public School (Bengali: আদমজী ক্যান্টনমেন্ট পাবলিক স্কুল) is a boys school in Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka, Bangladesh.[3][4][5] It is managed by the Bangladesh Army.[6][7][8]

History

Adamjee Cantonment Public School was established in 1960.[9][10] At that time, it followed the curriculum of British Public School and offered education in only six classes, from class four to nine. Mr. Dolman, a British educationist, was the first principle of the school. Subsequently, with further expansion of the institution, it was converted into a college and was named as Adamjee Cantonment College. In 1995, the school section was totally bifurcated and shifted to its present location and its original name "Adamjee Cantonment Public School" was reinstated.[11][12]

Location and infrastructure

The school is located in the heart of Dhaka Cantonment, on 5.00 acres of land. The school is housed in two buildings: six storied and five storied.[11][13][14]

Academics

At present it is a two-shift school with about 7,500 students. The Day shift which was discontinued, has been reintroduced from 2013. This school consists of Bangla and English Version.[11][15][16]

The school has more than 18 extracurricular clubs.

ACPS Club of Mathematics

The Adamjee Cantonment Public School Club of Mathematics, also known as ACPSCM, is a prominent student led club within Adamjee Cantonment Public School. Established in 2017, the club is dedicated to fostering a passion for mathematics among students and nurturing their analytical and problem-solving skills. It plays a pivotal role in engaging students through regular sessions, competitions, and creative learning initiatives, making mathematics both accessible and enjoyable.

The club has gained widespread recognition for its participation and success in various mathematics competitions, including NDC National Math Festival, ৮ম অঙ্ক অলিম্পিয়াড, SMC presents Math Mania, Zenith Math Mania, Josephite Math Mania, and BUET Onuronon Math Fest.

In addition to external achievements, the club organizes several in-house events. The club has organized fests like the 1st Intra-Adamjee Mathematician Hunt (2018), ACPSCM Presents 1st Intra Chess Competition (2022), ACPSCM Presents Intra Math Week (2023), Intra Online Math Mania (2023) and chess tournaments such as the 1st Intra Chess Competition (2022) and 2nd Intra Chess Carnival (2023).

The club has also expanded its scope by working as event and club partners in various high-profile mathematics and chess competitions, representing the school with pride and excellence.

Adamjee Cantonment Public School I.T. Club

The Adamjee Cantonment Public School I.T. Club, also known as ACPSITC, established in 2015, is a pioneering student led club within Adamjee Cantonment Public School that fosters interest and excellence in technology and computing. The club aims to empower students with digital skills, enhance their technical knowledge, and inspire innovation in the ever-evolving field of information technology.

The club organizes several impactful events, promoting both creativity and technical proficiency. The club has organized fests like the 1st ACPS IT Carnival (2017), 1st ACPS Gaming Tournament powered by GIGABYTE (2017), ACPSITC Presents Valorant Tournament 2.0 (2023), ACPSITC Presents Call of Duty Mobile 1.0 Tournament (2023), and ACPSITC Presents TechnoFusion – 9 Years of Legacy (2024).

These events serve as a platform for students to engage in programming, gaming, and digital innovation.
