• – Taoyuan Airport MRT extends to Zhongli railway station.[2]
• – Capitol Corridor running through the East Bay is planned to be rerouted over the Coast Line.[3]

August

• – Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link, A road and rail tunnel will connect Lolland, Denmark, with Fehmarn, Germany, across the Fehmarn Belt.[4]

September

• September 9 – Blue Line of the Dubai Metro opens between Creek and Dragon Mart.[5]

November

• – Line 5N of the Dhaka Metro Rail to start operations between Hemayetpur and Vatara.[6]

December

• – Dongtan–Indeogwon Line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway opens between Indeogwon and Dongtan.[7]
• – Gyenggang Line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway extends to Wolgot from Pangyo.[8]
