The Sun adalah sebuah surat kabar New York yang terbit dari 1833 hingga 1950. Surat kabar tersebut dianggap menjadi surat kabar serius, seperti dua lembar lebar yang lebih sukses di kota tersebut, yaitu The New York Times dan New York Herald Tribune. The Sun adalah surat kabar paling konservatif secara politik dari ketiganya.

The Sun mendapat perhatian karena tindakannya dalam Kebohongan Bulan Besar (Great Moon Hoax) pada 1835.^[1]
