Pop Mart adalah sebuah perusahaan mainan asal Tiongkok. Perusahaan ini dikenal karena menjual mainan 'rancangan desainer' yang dapat dikoleksi, dan sering dijual dalam format 'kotak buta'.[1][2]

Sejarah

Perusahaan ini didirikan pada tahun 2010 oleh Wang Ning.[3] Kemudian, perusahaan ini terdaftar di bursa saham Hong Kong pada tahun 2020.[4]

Produk dan toko

Di Tiongkok, mainan mereka dijual dengan harga rata-rata antara 59 dan 69 RMB dalam format 'kotak buta' yang diyakini 'mendorong pembelian berulang dari pelanggan yang ingin mendapatkan barang paling langka'.[1][5] Demografi pelanggan mereka di Tiongkok biasanya adalah kaum remaja dan dewasa muda yang mapan.[6]

Perusahaan ini memiliki jenis gerai yang dikelola manual oleh staf, serta ada juga yang berupa mesin penjual dan dikenal sebagai 'roboshop'.[7][8] Pada bulan Desember 2021, 'Pop Mart Global' dibuka di Amerika Serikat.[9]

Dampak

Keberhasilan perusahaan ini telah membuat banyak perusahaan mainan di negara Tiongkok yang meniru konsep 'kotak buta'.[10]

Salah satu seri produk mereka yang bernama Labubu, sempat viral kala tahun 2024 lantaran Lisa Blackpink sempat mengunggah fotonya memegang boneka tersebut pada akun Instagramnya.[11] Di Indonesia sendiri, gerai Pop Mart yang berada di Gandaria City Jakarta pun dibanjiri pengunjung yang datang membludak akibat fenomena tersebut.[12]
