Little Syria, Manhattan

Anak imigran Suriah/Lebanon di Washington Street, Lower Manhattan

Little Syria dulunya merupakan permukiman Arab Amerika yang pernah berdiri di borough Manhattan, New York City pada akhir 1880-an[1] sampai 1940-an. Juga disebut Syrian Quarter, permukiman ini mencakup Washington Street dari Battery Park sampai hulu Rector Street.[1] Enklave ini, pada luas puncaknya, pernah mencapai situs World Trade Center – batu sudut bangunan St. Joseph's Maronite Church ditemukan di reruntuhannya setelah 11 September.[2] Permukiman ini semakin terancam keberadaannya karena para penduduknya sudah banyak yang sukses dan pindah ke daerah lain, terutama Atlantic Avenue di Brooklyn,[3] dan hilang sepenuhnya ketika sebagian besar wilayah di hilir Washington Street dirobohkan untuk membuat jembatan pintu masuk Terowongan Brooklyn-Battery.[2][4]
