Sinonim

Hipposideridae adalah suku kelelawar yang memiliki bagian daun hidung yang rumit. Ukuran tubuhnya bervariasi dari kecil ke besar. Daun hidung anterior membundar dan agak berbentuk seperti ladam kuda (kecuali pada Coelops).

Perhatikan bahwa genus Paracoelops yang sebelumnya terdaftar di Vietnam sekarang menjadi sinonim dari Hipposideros pomona.

  1. ^ Nama ini secara teknis mempunyai prioritas di atas Hipposiderinae, dan beberapa ahli menggunakan "Rhinonycteridae" atau "Rhinonycterinae" untuk subfamili ini. Mamun, Hipposideridae/inae telah umum digunakan sejak tahun 1907 dan saat ini dipertahankan menunggu tindakan dari Komisi Internasional tentang Tata Nama Zoologi.[1]
