Ely (/ˈiːli/simakⓘEE-lee) adalah kota katedral di Cambridgeshire, Inggris, kira-kira 14 mil (23 km) utara-timur laut Cambridge dan sekitar 80 mil (129 km) dari London. Elthelthryth (juga dikenal sebagai Etheldreda) mendirikan sebuah biara di Ely pada tahun 673, biara itu dihancurkan ketika penjajah Denmark datang pada tahun 870, kemudian dibangun kembali oleh Æthelwold, Uskup Winchester, pada tahun 970.
