2016年夏季奧林匹克運動會舉重比賽的男子77公斤級项目於2016年8月10日在巴西里約熱內盧里約中心的第二展館舉行。[1]Nijat Rahimov原本獲得金牌，但在比賽開始前幾周的尿檢中替換尿液樣本，於2022年3月被國際體育仲裁法庭裁定違反禁藥規定，被褫奪金牌[2][3]。截至2022年，本項目的獎牌得主尚未重新分配，金牌得主空缺的狀態可能會持續到2024年[4]。
