Па́льмовый лесно́й певу́н[1] (лат. Setophaga palmarum) — вид птиц семейства древесницевых.
Описание
У пальмового лесного певуна тёмные лапы и тонкий острый клюв, у взрослых птиц верх головы часто красно-бурого цвета. Пальмовый лесной певун на востоке США отличается спиной коричнево-оливкового цвета, жёлтым животом и красно-бурыми полосами на груди и по бокам. У птиц на западе Северной Америки живот светлый, более тёмные полосы на груди и коричнево-серая спина.
Пение напоминает монотонную трель. Призывный крик — это резкое «чек».
Можно узнать этих птиц по их часто качающемуся хвосту.
Распространение
Области гнездования — это дождевые болота в Канаде и на северо-востоке США. Свои гнёзда в форме чашки птицы строят на земле или поблизости от земли.
Эти перелетные птицы зимуют на юго-востоке США, в Мексике и на Карибских островах.
Питание
Пальмовый лесной певун ищет корм на хвойных деревьях и на земле, ловя при случае насекомых в полёте. Они питаются преимущественно насекомыми и ягодами.
