Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui latar belakang berdirinya Museum Puri Lukisan (2) mengetahui tata ruang dan koleksi-koleksi yang terdapat di Museum Puri Lukisan (3) mengetahui koleksi-koleksi yang terdapat dalam Museum Puri Lukisan yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar sejarah kebudayaan. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tahap-tahap ; (1) teknik penentuan lokasi penelitian, (2) teknik penentuan informan, (3) teknik pengumpulan data (observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka), (4) teknik validitas data (triangulasi data), dan (5) teknik analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, (1) Pendirian Museum Puri Lukisan diprakarsai oleh Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati yang didukung oleh Rudolf Bonnet dan seniman-seniman Pita Maha yang bertujuan untuk menyelamatkan warisan hasil budaya leluhur agar tidak hilang dibawa ke luar negeri oleh wisatawan asing. (2) Tata ruang Museum Puri Lukisan mengikuti struktur tata rumah adat di Bali yakni konsep Asta Kosala-kosali dimana koleksi museum ditempatkan di empat ruangan yakni gedung utara, gedung barat, gedung timur dan gedung selatan berdasarkan urutan waktu koleksi tersebut dibuat. (3) Koleksi-koleksi di Museum Puri Lukisan dapat dirasakan manfaatnya sebagai sumber belajar sejarah kebudayaan di kelas XI Bahasa yang dimaksudkan agar siswa dapat melihat relevansi antara pembelajaran yang diberikan di sekolah dengan yang ada di lingkungan sehingga bermanfaat bagi pemahaman dan hasil belajar siswa. Selain itu, manfaat lainnya adalah siswa dapat menumbuhkan rasa cinta akan budaya sendiri dan turut serta untuk melestarikannya.Kata Kunci : museum, sumber belajar sejarah, tata ruang dan koleksi This study was aimed at (1) knowing the background of the existence of Puri Lukisan Museum (2) knowing the architecture and the collections of Puri Lukisan Museum (3) knowing the collections existed in Puri Lukisan museum which could be used as the source of learning for cultural history. In this study, the data was collected by using the qualitative method which consisted of the following steps; (1) technique of examining the setting of the study, (2) technique of determining the informant, (3) technique of data collection (observation, interview, literature review), (4) technique of data validation (data triangulation), (5) technique of data analysis. The result of the study indicated that (1) the establishment of Puri Lukisan museum was initiated by Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati with the support from Rudolf Bonnet and Pita Maha artists, and was established in purpose to save the cultural heritage of the ancestor for not being extinct and taken abroad by foreigner tourists. (2) the architecture of Puri Lukisan museum followed the concept of Balinese traditional architecture known as Asta Kosala Kosali where the collections of the museum were placed in four different rooms namely gedung utara (north building), gedung barat (west building), gedung timur (east building), and gedung selatan (south building) in accordance with the chronological times when those collections of the museum were made. (3) the collections of Puri Lukisan museum contributed to the learning sources of cultural history for language class students at grade XI, for which the students could see the relevancy of the lesson they got at school and the one existed in the community, therefore it could be beneficial for their understanding as well as their learning outcome. Besides that, as the other advantages, the students could grow their interest toward their own culture and take the role in protecting it.keyword : museum, learning source of history, architecture and collection
