This research  was  conducted  because  of  the  many cases  that  experienced  by  women migrant workers in the Korumba Village, Wawotobi District of Konawe. The weak policies that favour female workers became of the fundamental considerations, so this research is important to find the identification that they experienced. Lack of academic data, both in quality and quantity caused  the  parties  have  not  been  able  to  find  a  strategic  step  towards  the  problems  that experienced by women workers in the Korumba village, moreover Konawe often used as a "pocket" of women migrant workers from Southeast Sulawesi. Therefore, it became important to do research in  order  to  obtain  intersection  to  problems  that  experienced  by  women  migrant  workers  in Southeast Sulawesi. The purpose of this study is to identify the reasons of women that choose as migrant workers in abroad, as well as the problems that experienced by migrant workers since her departure until her return in the region of origin. Thus, it finds the forms of empowerment until the protection in accordance with the case with women migrant workers, especially in the Korumba Village, Wawotobi District of Konawe and Southeast Sulawesi in general. The results of this study found that the reason of women chose as migrant workers because they wanted to change the fate, to fine the experience, and to pay school fees. The problems were experienced by migrant workers since the beginning of departure to arrive at the destination (Saudi Arabia), moreover the form of protection  and  empowerment  was  done  in  the  form  of  long-term  strengthening  of  CBOs (community of migrant workers), as well as short-term, and most urgent was to formulate regulations through a script academic strengthened through legislation.  Keywords: women migrant workers, empowerment, and local regulations
