Los plesiopidae constituyen una familia de peces Actinopterygii del orden de los perciformes.

Morfología

La longitud máxima se encuentra alrededor de los 20 cm. Son peces de bocas grandes y ojos grandes.[1]​

Alimentación

Se alimentan de pequeños crustáceos y peces.[1]​

Distribución geográfica

Se encuentran en el Índico y al oeste del Pacífico.[1]​
