Wojtokiemie
Wojtokiemie ([vɔi̯tɔˈkʲɛmjɛ]; Lithuanian: Vaitakiemis[3]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Puńsk, within Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Lithuania.[4] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-east of Puńsk, 15 km (9 mi) north-west of Sejny, and 123 km (76 mi) north of the regional capital Białystok. From 1975-1998 the village was administratively governed by the Suwałki Voivodeship. Teacher and ethnographer, activist for the Lithuanian minority in Poland Aldona Wojciechowska was born here. HistoryIn 1827 it was recorded that the population of the village numbered at 173 and 29 homes and in 1893 it was numbered at 510 people and 50 homes.[5] Tourist attractions
