Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Political parties and politicians in Canada
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here. If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here. Thanks. — Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 09:34, 15 March, 2009 (UTC) Discussion at Wikipedia:Content assessmentYou are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Content assessment#Proposal: Reclassification of Current & Future-Classes as time parameter, which is within the scope of this WikiProject. This WikiProject received this message because it currently uses "Current" and/or "Future" class(es). There is a proposal to split these two article "classes" into a new parameter "time", in order to standardise article-rating across Wikipedia (per RfC), while also allowing simultaneous usage of quality criteria and time for interest projects. Wellington Bay (talk) 16:48, 10 September 2024 (UTC) Parliamentary Assistants in the Legislative Assembly of OntarioGood day. I'm not familiar with Canadian politics, so I would like some input on whether being a Parliamentary Assistant to a minister in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario is considered significant enough to warrant a mention in the infobox and the article body. I was working on the Sam Oosterhoff article and it appears that he has been Parliamentary Assistant on three different occasions (per [1]: Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Red Tape Reduction, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport). Including them all might bloat the infobox a bit, but wouldn't be totally unmanageable. In the mid-20th century spelling labour without a u - as labor - was actually considered progressive (which is why we have the Australian Labor Party instead of the Australian Labour Party even though Australia otherwise uses -our suffixes). Accordingly, the Labor-Progressive Party in Canada and British Columbia spelled its name without a 'u'. I can't figure out how to fix the mistake in the BC LPP row name. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 12:25, 25 September 2024 (UTC) What is "private MLA"?In the bio of a former Alberta MLA, a subsection is headed "2008 Election, private MLA (2008-2010)". The broader section heading is "Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta" so the meaning of "MLA" is clear, but the part about "private" isn't explained. If there is such a thing, it should be demystified. Thanks! JamesMLane t c 00:33, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
