Welcome to Wikipedia. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
merge WikiProject Philmont Scout RanchAs WikiProject Philmont Scout Ranch seems to have been inactive since the turn of the year, I propose making it a taskforce of Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting , similar to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting/Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting task force. That will ensure it won't get deleted (the WP:Council has been cleaning out inactive projects in recent months) and it will standardize that project with our existing MoS and membership base. We invite your suggestions and comments at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting#mergefrom WikiProject Philmont Scout Ranch. Chris 20:19, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:TobascoDonkeys.jpg)Thanks for uploading Image:TobascoDonkeys.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 09:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
An invitation to join WikiProject OhioHi, you are listed under Category:Wikipedians in Ohio or one of its subcategories. WikiProject Ohio has been slowing down and we're looking for active Ohioans to turn that around! But first, let us introduce ourselves; we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to Ohio and we're sure there's somewhere you'll fit in just fine. The project's departments include article quality assessment: We have over 5,000 articles to assess for class alone, newsletter writing: This has been delayed by a few months, and new page patrolling: Which has also been slowing down. We also have a newly formed taskforce on our over 1,000 townships at WP:OHTWP. We have 132 members, many of which are not active within the project. If you are listed there and still received this message please accept the auotmated porcess's apologies. If you are interested in joining us please list you name here. If you're not interested please note this is a one time invite and you will never hear from us again. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave a message at our talkpage or with any member of the project, we'll be happy to answer any of your questions. We look forward to seeing you around! Delivered by: §hepBot (Disable) 04:22, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
The Tobasco DonkeysUser:Zybthranger/Sandbox/The Tobasco Donkeys appears to be a cut & paste copy of the deleted article The Tobasco Donkeys. You are allowed to keep a deleted article in your userspace through a process called Userfication, but the cut & paste approach does not maintain the required history of contributions. We have two options to fix this: delete the userpage outright and be done with it; or delete the userpage, restore the deleted article and copy it to your userpage. Either way, I can fix this for you at your request. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 22:32, 12 July 2009 (UTC) Broken CoordsHi. I'm working on clearing out Category:Coord template needing repair.

List of Historic Councils and BSA additionsI am not good at Wiki talk. The list of historic council info was given to me about a decade ago on a CD in Excel from a scout from the NE whose name I do not remember and who did not put his name on the file. He spent many years at National doing the research. Some of the older BlueBook guys know who he is. Anyway, the Wiki stuff came from my long ago posting of the info and my book The History of Chehaw Council, which includes a detailed history of Scouting in Georgia. In 2007, I put a lot on Wiki and over the years, various well-meaning but ill-informed people have just butchered it. Anyway, I can email you the historical council spreadsheet. Send me your email. The book is FREE to read or download at http://www.chehawcouncilbook.com/ . Today, I offered to someone who looks like the head of the Scout Portal to redo Georgia in Wiki format if it can be locked so someone (not me, maybe you) can monitor changes. I do not want to do all the work and have it disappear.
