{{helpme}} Why is all the content not showing on User:Yellow Evan/FT Plans. Leave Message, Yellow Evan home WelcomesHi Yellow Evan. Thanks for your hard work welcoming new users. However: please don't welcome users who haven't made an edit yet. It interferes with some forms of vandalism patrol, it's a waste of time and bandwidth as 99% of new accounts never edit anyway, and it has been held against people in past adminship discussions because it looks like edit count inflation. Cheers. ⇦REDVƎRS⇨ 14:31, 25 April 2010 (UTC) GAN for Tropical Storm Sebastien (1995)I have put Tropical Storm Sebastien (1995) On Hold, please make the corrections I have asked for and it will be passed. Thanks -Marcusmax(speak) 01:00, 29 April 2010 (UTC) Hi, I have reviewed Hurricane Madeline (1976) and placed it on hold for up to seven days with several concerns. You can see my review here: Talk:Hurricane Madeline (1976)/GA1. Canadian Paul 04:18, 30 April 2010 (UTC) WikiCup 2010 April newsletterRound two is over, and we are down to our final 32. For anyone interested in the final standings (though not arranged by group) this page has been compiled. Congratulations to Hunter Kahn (submissions), our clear overall round winner, and to ThinkBlue (submissions) and Arsenikk (submissions), who were solidly second and third respectively. There were a good number of high scorers this round- competition was certainly tough! Round three begins tomorrow, but anything promoted after the end of round two is eligible for points. 16 contestants (eight pool leaders and eight wildcards) will progress to round four in two months- things are really starting to get competitive. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Judge iMatthew has retired from Wikipedia, and we wish him the best. The competition has been ticking over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. A special thank you goes to participants Stone (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) for their help in preparing for round three. Good luck everyone! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. The article could probably make GA without much effort. –Juliancolton | Talk 15:45, 9 May 2010 (UTC) Ading date to nominations at WP:GANHi, just letting you know that you need to sign with four tildes (~)s when adding a nomination t WP:GAN. This makes sure that a time stamp is added, ensuring that your nomination keeps its place in the queue, cheers! I noticed that you didn't do that on Hurricane Cosme (1989) or Hurricane Octave (1989). –– Jezhotwells (talk) 17:11, 10 May 2010 (UTC) Help me{{helpme}} [1] is not working. Thank you. Help{{helpme}} Why dioes the template break when I do this? Thanks. Leave Message, Yellow Evan home 00:10, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Category:Towns in NevadaThanks for your message. I've begun fixing the orphaned category. The term 'town' is definitely used in Nevada regarding both incorporated and unincorporated areas. As always with this term there is variation in usage according to context. If the usage were to be expunged then, at very least, the category would need to become a redirect to another category which does the same job. Either way, these communities, bigger than than a truckstop, hamlet or village and smaller than a city, or at least not incorporated into a city, are there. They exist. They have sizable populations. It would be crazy to ignore them because of semantics. --wayland (talk) 01:37, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

I think it's important to see that a town exists not only within the academic discipline of Geography, but also within Sociology and within the discipline of History, where towns rise or fall but remain part of the people's heritage. --wayland (talk) 17:18, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
Please see my suggestion on the CFD discussion. While that may not be the final solution, it may work for now. The large problem is that the main settled area, or concentration of population labeled as a Place (United States Census Bureau) often includes a real community with the CDP covering a broader area. Dealing with that in the 20+ states that have this problem is something beyond a simple Nevada discussion. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:11, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
WikiCup 2010 May newsletterWe are half way through round 3, with a little under a month to go. The current overall leader is Sasata (submissions), who has 570 points. He leads pool C. Pools A, B and D are led by Hunter Kahn (submissions), Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) respectively. Two of last year's final 8, Theleftorium (submissions) and Scorpion0422 (submissions), have dropped out of the competition, saying they would rather their place went to someone who will have more time on their hands than them next round. On a related note, a special thank you goes to White Shadows (submissions) for his help behind the scenes once again. There is currently a problem with the poster, perhaps caused by the new skin- take a look at this discussion and see if you can help. The competition has continued to tick over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. Good luck to all! There is also another GA nomination from the same area, Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository. If you have the time and interest, it would be nice to have some additional help on that article.
