User talk:Yann/archive 6JamesDukeStatueAndChapelWe have a non-free file for this. I noticed you restored c:File:JamesDukeStatueAndChapel1.jpg for Public Domain day. According to our info, it was sculpted in 1935 by American sculptor Charles Keck (1875-1951) and it's standing in front of Duke University in the US. PD-old-70 applies now, but does that also apply to the US in this case? Also pinging uploader Bluedog423 and Fastily who deleted the Commons file in 2012. Clindberg, I seem to remember you saying once that the standard for "publishing" is higher for works published less than 95 years ago. c:Commons:Publication#United States would suggest that a public display only counts as publishing if it's public enough ("a place open to the public or at any place where a substantial number of persons outside of a normal circle of a family and its social acquaintances is gathered") which does apply here. If that's right, following c:Commons:Hirtle chart and assuming it was put on display around 1935, this work is either {{PD-US-no notice}}/{{PD-US-not renewed}} (so why did we wait for public domain day? c:Category:Undelete in 2021 was deleted so we can't search the page history for a possible rationale) or it's protected by copyright until at least 2031. PD-old-70 seems relevant only for some works published after 1978. If it is PD I need to file a WP:REFUND request for w:File:JamesDukeStatueAndChapel.jpg as several revisions by NPatrick6 exist which possibly differ in metadata/compression/etc. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 10:33, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
Happy First Edit Day!
Request for helpYann, My account was recently blocked by one of the admins. There is no logical reason for this. I only did 8 edits and uploaded the photos I took with my camera on May 14 at the Rajadamnern Stadium. He\She even took away my permission to edit the discussion page so that I could not defend myself or request the removal of the block. Please check. Thank you Journal Ring (talk) 04:12, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
CezanneHi Yann, my edits on the Cezanne page were merely prep before I expanded the article. I was tidying up the format and removing extraneous characters before I was going to expand the article from the online catalogue raisonné (https://www.cezannecatalogue.com/catalogue/index.php?section=Painting&sort=catdate). I probably should have left a summary and explanation of what I was doing, I apologise, I have a tendency to forget there are other people out there looking at my works in progress. This is a similar process that I did when I edited the Monet and Goya lists, although admittedly somewhat larger due to the amount of extraneous characters. I assure you I am not a vandal deleting material for no apparent reason and have only the best interests of making a well constructed article at heart. If it is OK with you I would like to un-revert the changes before expanding the Cezanne page. If you still have any doubts about what I am doing you can check any of the other artists pages I have either created or expanded and hopefully see what I am trying to achieve

Copyright problem on List of reported UFO sightingsContent you added to the above article appears to have been copied from https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/archivos_pdf/vallee_1.pdf, which is not released under a compatible license. Copying text directly from a source is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, some of the content had to be removed and I paraphrased some. Twentieth Anniversary on Wikipedia!!
Invitation to join the Twenty Year SocietyDear Yann/archive 6, I'd like to extend a cordial invitation to you to join the Twenty Year Society, an informal group for editors who've been participating in the Wikipedia project for twenty years or more. Best regards, Chris Troutman (talk) 20:11, 10 January 2023 (UTC) January 2023You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at UFO sightings in the United States. These edits claim that papers uploaded by the authors to what essentially are preprint servers are considered reliable scientific papers. They are not. Do not continue in this fashion. jps (talk) 15:53, 13 January 2023 (UTC) UFOsI think your WP:ADVOCACY in the areas of UFOs is very problematic. I suggest you take a step back and consider whether you wish to continue in this fashion. If you do, I think there may be cause to ask for your topic ban from that subject. jps (talk) 16:05, 13 January 2023 (UTC) This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date. You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Yann (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: Hi, Can I get Wikipedia:IP block exemption please? Thanks, Yann (talk) 10:04, 18 July 2023 (UTC) Decline reason: You need to explain why you need WP:IPBE. I see for example that you are currently able to edit. You may have a compelling need for IPBE but haven't yet justified it. Yamla (talk) 10:16, 18 July 2023 (UTC) If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Yann (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I sometimes use Lantern. Yann (talk) 10:31, 18 July 2023 (UTC) Accept reason: Based on the additional information you provided me, I have granted WP:IPBE for one year. You are free to apply to have this renewed once the year is up and I expect (though cannot guarantee) no problems in you getting an extension. Happy editing! Yamla (talk) 15:19, 18 July 2023 (UTC) I think you would generally be a good candidate for IPBE but you still haven't demonstrated a need. Simple desire to use particular software is not enough. A demonstrated need to use censorship-bypassing tools, on the other hand, such as because of regular travel to such countries, may be a different matter. --Yamla (talk) 10:35, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
