Thank you for your continued membership in WikiProject Louisville! Our project is still alive and mildly kicking after over 9 years in operation. If by chance you're not up-to-date with what's going on in the project, here's some of the more recent goings-on:
  • We have over 6,100 articles included in the project and almost 17,000 pages (including talk pages) overall.
  • Our list of project tasks have been moved to a project subpage. This was done because the project's main page was getting rather long and perhaps difficult to digest. "One-stop shopping" for our project's tasks!
  • Our Membership department has been revamped. A lot of membership-related things have been clarified.

Believe it or not, WikiProject Louisville is still in operation after nearly 18 years, and we're in the Top 40 most active projects.

Recent Project Happenings

  • Since fall of last year, the project has undergone a major revamp. All pages of the project have been redesigned and largely rewritten. Of special note to members is that we're now listed participants. It's a slightly different mode of operation that WikiProjects have been gradually moving toward – instead of being like a club, we're an action center! Check out our Participation & outreach page for more details.
  • We have over 6,800 articles included in the project and over 21,000 pages (including talk pages) overall.

Derby 150 Edit-a-thon, Anyone?

Sam Rolfe

I'm not sure about your reversion. The source I added clearly states he and his wife did live at the house. Your source is contradictory, and contains a clear error - it states that "it belonged to Sam and Hilda Rolfe" and that it was purchased by "its last owners, Sam and Hilda Newman-Rolfe, in 2004." The last is a clear error as Rolfe died in 1997. How reliable is Eichler Network? It appears to be closer to a blog than a major news source, albeit a respected one. Is the author of the op-ed a journalist? This source says it was bought by the Rolfes in 1975, [1]. KJP1 (talk) 16:23, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I'm all for accuracy. But at the moment we have two RS that say the Rolfes did own the house, and one, of seemingly lesser reputability, saying they bought it in 2004, which is clearly an error given the date of Sam Rolfe's death. Located on one of Brentwood’s most prestigious streets, the so-called Zimmerman House by modernist architect Craig Ellwood was razed in a matter of days. In its place, a new and much larger mansion is currently rising.
According to the USModernist nonprofit, the Zimmerman house was commissioned in 1949 by Martin and Eva Zimmerman, and completed in 1950. Once featured in Progressive Architecture magazine, the 0.83-acre estate featured gardens and mature trees carefully placed by esteemed landscape designer Garrett Eckbo. Inside, the blocky modernist structure offered five bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,770 square feet of single-story living space.
The house changed hands in 1968 and again in 1975, when it sold for the paltry sum of $205,000 to Sam and Hilda Rolfe, he the co-creator of the classic 1960s spy series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and the CBS series Have Gun — Will Travel. Sam Rolfe died in 1993, but his widow Hilda continued to own and reside at the property until her own death nearly 30 years later.
Although the Zimmerman house was never listed on the open market, the property was quietly sold last January, just months after Hilda’s death, for $12.5 million. The off-market buyers were Hollywood actor Chris Pratt and author Katherine Schwarzenegger, who wasted little time in demolishing the midcentury structure to make way for their own new Brentwood dream home—which is currently still in the early stages of construction."
