Devyn Rose

Hi Wifione - I have read the write up you guys did for me (I am Devyn Rose) and there is incorrect information that needs to be changed, some of the story line is incorrect in the early life, my dob is wrong, etc. Can you please work with me to make the changes? I can provide links etc for reference if need be. Thank you. DevynRose1 (talk) 13:49, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sure DevynRose1. Please provide reliable sources to support the statements that you wish to be updated in your article and I'll either make the changes myself or guide you to the editors who can assist. Also, to ensure that you are not impersonated on Wikipedia, you may be required to identify yourself. Please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org with confirmation of your identity to ensure your username is not misused. Thanks. Wifione Message 12:12, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

AFD closure

I'm just curious, how you closed this AFD as "no consensus". It should have been a delete. If I was in your place I wouldn't have closed the discussion by just counting the !votes. I would have closed it based on the weigh of the arguments. And it is pretty clear that delete !voters had used better arguments for delete than keep. Anyway, happy new year! Jim Carter 09:44, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jim. Good to see you around. You're right. I was on a no consensus tending towards delete, but not a clear delete because of the two Times of India sources (and one more source, again from the Times of India, that is visible on the search engines). What would you like me to do here? I can re-list the AfD if you might prefer that. Wifione Message 12:17, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should leave it. Given that the subject has started getting coverage in reliable sources so I think it wouldn't be fare to relist it again as the article can be fixed per WP:HANDLE and hence will pass WP:NFF. Anyway, I'm happy to see reliable editors like you closing AfDs. In the past few months I have to perform many NACs as there were not enough qualified editors like you who could clear the daily-to-daily backlog. But now I'm relaxed to see editors like you are doing this job. Thank you. Have a nice day! :) Jim Carter 18:45, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Jim. Sure, will do as you suggest. See you around. Wifione Message 03:09, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2015 already

Hi Wifione. No frills - just a quiet ‘’all the best’’ to you for 2015 and I hope you’ll continue to be around on Wikipedia for a long time to come. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:00, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kudpung. Thanks so much for the thoughtful note :) I hope so too, and likewise hope to see you around Wikipedia for a long time. It's been lovely interacting with you. Season's greetings and new year wishes. Wifione Message 16:00, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You were recently listed as a party to a request for arbitration. The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Wifione. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Wifione/Evidence. Please submit your evidence before 16 January 2014, which is when the evidence phase closes. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Wifione/Workshop. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration.

Please read this notice before submitting any material (evidence or workshop proposals or comments) on the case or talk pages.

From the statements so far, this case is either about an administrator editing in defiance of the neutral point of view policy or a group of editors unjustly making accusations of such. The committee takes no view at present.

However, all participants are reminded that breaches of the Outing and harassment policy and the Personal attacks policy are prohibited. Further, be aware that the outing policy takes precedence over the Conflict of interest guideline.

No material that touches upon individual privacy may be posted publicly but must instead be sent using "Email user" to the Arbitration Committee. Such material will be accepted, or disregarded, at the committee's sole discretion.

Before communicating by email with the Committee, please read our "Communications and privacy" statement.

Happy New Year Wifione!

Crippled Black Phoenix (libel issue)

Hello, a page on my watchlist has become somewhat of a battleground surrounding a libel issue. It involves the band Crippled Black Phoenix. As the history of the page demonstrates, there have been a number of reverts and inappropriate comments placed on the page by anon. IPs. I really have very little experience with libel issues such as these on Wikipedia. Just wondering what your view on it is? Many thanks. Karst (talk) 13:17, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Karst, hi there. Let me go through this and comment back. Cheers. Wifione Message 18:05, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, rather than undeleting the article Roz Peterson, why don't you just recreate the same? If you need assistance in getting the deleted material, just put in a note here and I'll give you access to the same. Thanks. Wifione Message 14:04, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly personal comments

Hi Wifione, I've been meaning to say something to you on your Talk page for quite some time, but I kept putting it off because I didn't know what to say exactly. My apologies for these belated comments. As you must know, my personal interaction with you has always been a pleasure, and it was with dismay that I became aware of the controversy surrounding your conduct (I was completely unaware of it during most the time it was brewing). Frankly, I haven't followed the evidence presented against you in the arbitration case to have any opinion of my own as to what you did or didn't do. I have, however, kept abreast of the direction of the case and the proposed decision. At this point, it looks like in addition to giving up your tools you're going to be formally banned from the project. I'm sorry to hear that, and I personally wish you nothing but the best. As we hopefully all know, there are other things in life besides Wikipedia. Regards.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:34, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bbb, thank you, as always. It has been a privilege knowing you. Wifione Message

Song without words --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:23, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really know what to say. I'm sitting here, almost in tears, because one of the most influential people I've recently come to admire, respect, and grow fond of working with, has just had their integrity and image shred. I started writing out a longer post but there's really no point. Good luck Wifione. I suppose I'll have to harass Bbb23 now. Dusti*Let's talk!* 00:42, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Echoing what Bbb23 said, I don't know what you did or didn't do. But I remember that working with you (years ago) was always a pleasure. You have done a lot to this project, and it will forever be remembered. I wish you all the best, Wifione. Good luck. Rehman 01:48, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

Hello Wifione

I observed that an autopatrol was recently granted to a user who had only created disambiguation pages. It seemed like a bridge of WP:AUTOPAT. How do you explain this? Cheers! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 04:56, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.
