WooMoo/Rat socksOh man, these guys are so persistent. Will it be more effective to contact the company and notify them that one of their PR guys (or agencies) is probably butt-hurt and not behaving well? Maybe we can explain to them that these actions might hurt their image, as a random guy like me could follow what is happening. (They don't want to see some other random guy writing a webpage about this misbehavior, do they?) cepheid feline treat (meow!) 18:28, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!Hello, Widr. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. That IPSee WP:ANI#Edit warring, incivilty, block evades from an IP contributor about the IP user you just blocked. — Gestrid (talk) 06:36, 24 November 2016 (UTC) Amit Goyal[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Amit_Goyal&action=history There's been this persistent vandal and spammer, and they have literally exceeded their limits at rollbacking me. Extending protection periodWidr, not sure if you recall protecting articles Aaron Livesy and Robert Sugden on 2 November 2016, for 2 weeks each. Alas, the minute the protection expired IP disruption erupted again, adding the same in-depth plot details, and from the same IP account. I'm wondering if there is any advice or suggestion you can think of to stop the IP without blocking them, whilst also keeping the article unprotected? If re-protection is the only option, then perhaps extending it for a longer semi-p period or maybe pending changes, or even extended confirmed protected. Not sure which will do the trick. But as these TV drama characters are highly active in a huge storyline that seems to be having fans in a hype, then some sort of action needs to be taken to keep the articles unbiased and plot-free. Thank you in advance. Wes Mouse Talk 00:05, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Excess linking blockHello, The same excess linking that caused you to block User 2601:18C:600:1710:49CF:A802:4BA:7DE9 is now starting again from user Jack501. Could you possibly look into it? Thank you! - Macspaunday (talk) 00:41, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Block evaderHi Widr. This IP is a known troll – they have been terrorising Australian sports team article for two years now under many different IPs. The most latest IPs that are blocked are this and this. This case was reported to AIV by another user, but was declined. Could 73.55.34.64 please be blocked. Cheers. From looking at the article, it's been the target of numbers-inflation and additions of equipment not operated by Singapore. The IP was apparently attempting to revert the vandalism. Similar vandalistic edits have been made to Equipment of the Republic of Singapore Air Force and Equipment of the Republic of Singapore Navy. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 07:43, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
Aaron Christopher debacle
Look familiar?Hi, Widr! This "new user" posted a rant on their talk page that sounds like it might be addressed to you. Do they sound familiar? I came within an inch of blocking them for an outrageous BLP violation; if you can recognize them as a sock they're all yours. --MelanieN (talk) 01:57, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
RollbackIt's been a while since I've applied for rollback, and I think it might be a good time to reapply, for me. Can you tell me what you think? Adotchar| reply here 22:39, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
Page protectionCould Perth Lynx, Perth Wildcats, Sydney Uni Flames, Sydney Kings, Brisbane Bullets, Adelaide Lightning and Adelaide 36ers please be semi protected long term? They are constantly harassed by the same person, now via this IP (you recently blocked this one). IP blocks are not working, they keep coming back over and over again, having done so for a two years now. DaHuzyBru (talk) 15:25, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
Cedric TyllemanHi Widr, I'm dropping you a line directly because it seems the user who created Cedric Tylleman is back under two more different IPs to delete the speedy templates. They resolve to the same university as the blocked IP and are using the same writing style, etc. which trends toward WP:DUCK... though I know rules are different for IPs with outing and such. RA0808 talkcontribs 15:27, 5 December 2016 (UTC) Could you please block this sock?Special:Contributions/1002szm2011 is an obvious Special:Contributions/020730szm-sock looking for attention, creating an LTA-report for themselves. Possible socksThese three new accounts [1][2] [3] are all adding unsourced, often promotional but always unencyclopedic content to horse-related articles and some seemingly random others. Not only that, the userpages are extremely similar. All say they are from Ireland and like horses (though the writing doesn't seem British to me), and all have the page half full of Wikipedia Adventure things. To me, the writing style of each reads the exact same as the others. I think there's a good chance they are socks. It needs to be semi-protected again, for a long time, as the disruption started immediately after your protection expired. Also, if and when you have the time, could you delete every revision between June and now from the page's history. I just want to make it harder for the vandalism to be reverted back to, and I'm sure a lot of that content would fall under WP:RD2 or WP:RD3. Sro23 (talk) 18:25, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Other Anti-Vandal EditorsI just witnessed an edit war over the current sports team of the baseball player Mitch Moreland. Two editors, User:Muboshgu and User:Trut-h-urts man, removed many edits which were perfectly good, it just seems evident that the anti-vandals did not take the time to google "mitch moreland signing with the red sox" and instead decided to remove multiple edits from more than 5 users changing "Free agent" to "Red Sox" after he was signed. Here's some of the edits: [4] [5] [6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. That is a lot of edits without checking. He did sign, and if you check my latest edit to the page a few minutes ago, there's detailed information that was up before the edit war started. As you're an administrator, and I'm new to rollback unlike the two editors in question, can you try to do something about this, like warning them as you warned me? 184.186.213.38Hi Widr, hope you're doing well - I note you changed the duration of a block I made to 184.186.213.38. I took into consideration the previous blocks and decided to give it a week just to measure if the pattern of disruption was going to be the same, as prior to today the IP had been unblocked since May and had not vandalised. Any advice would be appreciated so I can improve my blocking -- samtar talk or stalk 21:15, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
