Have you tried to see if you can run reFill from your mobile? It would be cool if you can, because it will do up the citation templates for many (though not all) raw URLs. Even those of us who don't edit from a phone often just do raw urls and then run reFill on them. (As you may have noticed) Montanabw(talk) 23:10, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I tried and it wouldn't even come up. I can remember the cite web template and type it in from memory, but I can't remember the cite book and other templates. My phone is weird. 😛 White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 00:07, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Hm. You might make a note of that at User:Zhaofeng Li/reFill, if they don't have advice on how you can make it load, then it's a glitch they should fix; many people edit via mobile phones and the templates are a total PITA without access to either the citation templates or some form of automation. Montanabw(talk) 01:10, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- It worked just then! I filled in the refs on a draft in case it went wrong, but it worked. No idea why it wouldn't earlier, but it did just now. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 02:08, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I know what a reference is, I just don't know how to make one.
Horsegeek (talk) 00:57, 2 February 2016 (UTC)Horsegeek[reply]
- @Horsegeek:, you can copy paste the url from whatever web page you are citing into the article just after the text you are using the ref to back up. Then you can use ref tags on either end of it like this: <ref></ref>. That'll make the ref automatically appear in the ref section. Or you can use the cite templates and fill them in. Or you can use bare urls within ref tags and then run reFill (see section immediately above this one). Either way will make a ref. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 01:22, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, could you help me with my references on my draft? Something went wrong...
Horsegeek (talk) 00:02, 3 February 2016 (UTC)Horsegeek[reply]
- I think I fixed it. You had accidentally left off the closing tag on the ref and that makes the list come up randomly. I've done it before too. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 01:25, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I knew this lady, but never knew she was once Miss Montana and rode her horse in the talent competition! [1]. Think that's notable enough for a WP article? Montanabw(talk)|GO THUNDER! 06:03, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I think she safely meets notability. Ha, I had no idea they ever had used animals in talent competitions like that. Neat person! (By the way, I'm rooting for the Broncos too. I hope they have the live Thunder at the game. I can't wait to see Budweiser's ad this year either.) White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 15:58, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Bud Dunn you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Montanabw -- Montanabw (talk) 19:41, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The article Bud Dunn you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Bud Dunn for things which need to be addressed. Hi! I saw that you wanted to make an article about the Naborr. It's a type of Arabian right? I would be delighted to help you work on it if you would let me.
Horsegeek (talk) 03:21, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Horsegeek[reply]
- Sure, I'd be fine with you helping me on it. (He was a specific Arabian horse, not a type.) I started it as a draft so we can work on it together and then move it whenever it's ready. I don't really like articles for creation and don't use it. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 16:33, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm in. I saw the Naborr son *Aramus in real life when he was alive and thought he was absolutely gorgeous. For an example of an article on an Arabian of that era that is of OK quality, try Bask or Khemosabi. Montanabw(talk) 02:04, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- I've never seen any famous Arabians (not enough of them where I live) but I live a few miles from a brother of I Am Jose and I once RODE a daughter of Smart Little Lena. Famous horse encounters are more fun than famous people encounters. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 02:20, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The article Bud Dunn you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Bud Dunn for comments about the article. Well done! I am writing a new draft about a book called Spirit Animals (more info later...) :)

Is it interesting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kimono111 (talk • contribs) 00:16, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I'll check over and look at it later. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 00:20, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Spirit Animals is a book about special people that get to have lifelong animal companions if they are lucky. I would love a horse spirit animal. Wouldn't you?
Horsegeek(talk) 03:34, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Horsegeek[reply]
- Yeah, that'd be cool. I went on the Scholastic site and read about them. Too bad they weren't out there when I was a kid, but I loved (still do) Hank the Cowdog. It's about a dog that lives on a working ranch in Texas and is written by a real cowboy. I only found out recently that he is still alive and still writing new books in the series. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 16:50, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Can I be registered editor or novice editor then?
- You already are a registered editor. All you have to do for that is make an account, and you already have. You may or may not qualify for novice, depending on how long you've been here, but you're registered. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 00:22, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think there are any good horse articles I could create or anything for the time being?
Horsegeek(talk) 22:09, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Horsegeek[reply]
- I think there are a lot of sport horses, like Olympic jumping horses, that are redlinked as needing articles. You can create them in userspace or in article space. Any horse that went to that level should definitely have sources online and probably meets notability. I don't have the links right here but you can look at Category:Equestrian biography stubs (unlinked as it won't appear in the message, but if you search it'll come up) and any horse names that are redlinked probably need articles. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 22:15, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Tons of horses (and some riders) are at List of Olympic medalists in equestrian. Many don't have articles. Most of ones that do are linked already, and those you could look at to see if they can be expanded or otherwise improved. The ones not linked, you can search to see if an article has been created, and if it has, link to it, if not create the article if it can be established that the horse has notability beyond just his rider (for example, a stallion with a career at stud, or a horse that won multiple times). (someone made an editorial decision long ago not to do a lot of redlinks on the list, so we should respect that, it's a featured list). Just looking at the list, maybe Ulla Salzgeber's horse Rusty might be one; medaled in two Olympiads (There's quite a bit about him in Salzgeber's article, probably could spin off without too much trouble). I remember Flim Flam was pretty famous in his day too. Just some ideas Montanabw(talk) 23:46, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I think Flim Flam was made a Breyer horse too. I remember him. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 00:16, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fiddling with the formatting of your userboxes, revert if you want, but big one sometimes don't fit into a pile neatly (like here: [3]) . Montanabw(talk) 20:34, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- OK. On the Saddlebred and Quarter Horse ones, the upright pics were the best ones I could find that looked like the breeds and didn't include a horse with five miles of space around it. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 21:06, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Yeah, that part is fine, they are just big/taller than usual ... userboxes aren't 100% uniform, but they tend to be pretty similar in size (particularly for those of us who stack up a ton of them) uniformity really helps! Montanabw(talk) 08:41, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just created Five-gaited today. I'd love help wikilinking it in other articles, and finding sources on breeds that can do five gaits besides Saddlebreds and Icelandics. Anything that sounds fun, go for it! Montanabw(talk) 07:12, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, this is perfect. I just created Harlem Globetrotter (horse) and am working on one about the mare that matched Wing Commander's six world's grand championships. I'll look around and do dome linking. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 16:05, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Man, getting trolled by that person who never read WP:LEAD and getting the Nikki treatment all on the same article in the same time period! Hugs, dearie! (Nikki is not a troll, she's a very experienced user, but quite a fussy one...who sometimes forgets that consensus can change... ;-) She and I have argued over infoboxes for years... ) Your wikipedia honeymoon is officially over, but welcome to the rest of the wiki! (I'll be "celebrating" my 10th wiki-versary in about a month, so don't let the difficult stuff drag you down!) Montanabw(talk) 06:44, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- At least there was an RS for the birthdate... the lead thing is what shocked me, enough to make that post at the Village Pump, because I saw that this person had been reviewing GAs! Who knows what they were telling the people whose articles they were reviewing?! I doubt they even bothered to read anything beyond the lead of the article, because if they had they'd have surely noticed that everything was sourced. And how they could have been here for a year and not know that policy... White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 21:29, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- This is what we call a troll. Living under bridges and eating unsuspecting travelers, you don't learn a lot about the MOS or WP policies... /snark. Montanabw(talk)

- NIkki is basically a good sort at heart, she just believes that the rules are the rules are the rules, and sometimes I get annoyed at her. But she reviews every single FAC out there (and I have Thunder (mascot) upright now) and has always eventually passed all of mine. The other editor, that "lede troll" guy is heading for a block if he keeps gaming the system (see WP:NOTHERE), and if he bugs you, just ping me and as soon as I am online, I'll show him the fast track to a smackdown. Montanabw(talk)
Apparently he annoyed a couple of admins and they warned him. He doesn't seem to have a great grasp of English either, he told one person their article needed to be "more neutraller". He is now undergoing mentoring on the GA talk page, thankfully. In the meantime, I'm hoping to get a reviewer for Black Allan. White Arabian Filly Neigh 01:11, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- By the way, thanks for tossing that troll on my page. It turned out to be this sockdrawer, who seems to have created over separate accounts this February. Sigh... FWIW, I've seen wiki get kind of nuts every February/March; must be cabin fever or something. Usually about mid-April it settles down. Montanabw(talk) 01:13, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Nooo, not them! I've seen the archives of the trouble they've caused before on some of the horse and rodeo articles. It was a pleasure to toss them! White Arabian Filly Neigh 01:41, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
