Userbox Request
Thank You For The Userboxes You Made Me Before. Can You Make One For
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

@Catfurball: I've been losing interest in Wikipedia as a whole, sadly—though I may regain interest in consistently editing on Wikipedia and creating userboxes at some point in the future as I have in the past. In the meantime I'll continue to take userbox requests, though it may take some weeks before they're created if I end up getting caught up in other things in life. I've created the userboxes from this request and the previous one:
@WaddlesJP13: I know how you feel I have thought about leaving Wikipedia many times, since some editors are so nasty to me. Even today an IP even threated me. If I were to leave no one would be improving the articles belonging to my WikiProject or creating new articles for my WikiProject. Even many people in the area where I live are nasty to me and spread hatred lies about me. And when I was a child many people at the private schools that I went to were mean to me. Wikipedia is open to various individuals' contributions
You've repeatedly undid my contributions on the Alpha Motor Corporation page based on your personal conspiracy. If it persists, I will have to report your account for abuse as you are blocking other contributors even when the entry is based on facts and supported/ cited with sources. I've done extensive research to populate the page with factual information. You should not be writing a wikipedia page with your personal assumptions and outdated information. T.simons0623 (talk) 01:20, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
@T.simons0623: I have not "blocked" anyone from editing the article, I can't because I'm not an admin. You also can't "report" my account for "abuse" when you're actively committing more site violations than I am by spamming external website links all over the article and turning it from an encyclopedic article I'm beginning to regret having published into a camouflaged fluff piece about a dime-a-dozen vaporware tech startup. The only "conspiracy" that I have is that you and all of the other new accounts that popped up like mushrooms overnight to edit this article are somehow possibly being paid by or are employed at Alpha Motor Corporation or an affiliated entity to remove any remotely negative information from the article and replace it with spam links and promo clutter. It's highly unusual for a simple enthusiast of a subject to create a Wikipedia account and start editing like this, let alone several of them at once like you and other new and unregistered editors have done.
For all of those reasons, I am leaving the article as it was before you guys came through like a tornado and turned it into a giant corporatized mess—I'd rather leave it as a encyclopedic albeit outdated article with a hatnote stating so until an experienced editor comes by and updates it rather than let you all effectively turn it into a billboard. Furthermore, I am requesting that it be protected indefinitely so that this may not reoccur in the future. Waddles🗩🖉01:53, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
As you know, I am a new user! And for best practices, I've carefully cited my information. Seems like you didn't like excesses citations and links, however. I did take your feedback and as it seemed like you thought my extensive citations could be promotion for other businesses/ entities/ websites. I've unlinked outgoing links (I had linked entities that did not have a Wikipedia page, as a way of providing sources).
I did not upload any information that was my own assumptions about the company unlike past contributors. I really implore you to actually read my edits and check the sources, I've fact-checked thoroughly! It is wrong to delete factual information based on your personal assumptions, especially if you are not well-informed on the subject.
I don't see how you're making me accountable for all the new contributions that were uploaded this year. If you thought it was white-washing, then I must ask you: Are you editing on behalf of Alpha Motor Corporation's competitors?? - Do you see how frustrating it is to receive such accusations? I only see your actions as an agenda to prevent newcomers from contributing to Wikipedia. While you have no intention of contributing to the article through rigorous research. T.simons0623 (talk) 02:04, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
@T.simons0623: The fact that the Alpha Motor Corporation article is the only article you have ever contributed to, and that when I removed all of the spam from the page you suddenly return from your hiatus to reinstate them, is enough to convince anyone who has been on Wikipedia for a while that you have some kind of association with the subject. There have been no other edits to unrelated articles from you like a typical editor would make and it is highly unusual for them to make a massive early edit like you did.
If it's the truth you're working for Alpha Motor Corporation in some way, the best advice I can give you is to stop this all now. Every edit you make on Wikipedia is publicly available to view to anyone forever (except in site violations), and if it gets out there that a startup with the ambitious intention to enter the U.S. auto market has resorted to editing an online encyclopedia to promote the business, it will only show the incompetence of the company.
In the event you're simply a newcomer who for whatever reason is very interested in this one particular company and stalks the article for the subject, I recommend you work on a neutral-perspective encyclopedic tone and look in to how to properly link related articles or external sites and cite sources. You still insist on trying to add changes to the article that are similar to your original edits and are engaging in edit warring. Unfortunately, I still have doubts that you're a well-intentioned newcomer editor who is not associated with a company, but if you could somehow prove otherwise, it would be greatly appreciated by everyone. Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion
Could you please make a userbox that says: This user is a fan of Bush.
I would prefer the background in a red shade like the one on their debut album. Please insert any band picture that you please.
@Musicbladesuitbox: Hello! Sorry for my inactivity. I noticed that you have added your own userboxes to your user page. Would you like me to create these userboxes for you still? I am willing to do that if so. Waddles🗩🖉00:49, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
Yes please :) I did create my own user boxes but they’re bigger than I wanted them (I was aiming for a userbox the same size as yours for Pearl Jam etc. and I actually copied the Userbox code from yours directly to make the smaller Bush one, so sorry I didn’t ask permission) none of my user boxes turned out in the shade of red that I wanted. Could you please make them for me, with the suggestions I listed? Thanks. Musicbladesuitbox (talk) 01:09, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
I also created one for the band itself since I forgot to make one beforehand (User:WaddlesJP13/Userbox/Bush). It's cool to see another Bush fan in the flesh! Also, no worries about copying my userboxes—feel free to remix them or copy them for formatting purposes which you can do in your own namespace (e.g. User:Musicbladesuitbox/[userbox title]) or the User:UBX namespace if you'd like to make some of your own too! If you have any other userbox requests or changes you'd like me to make to the ones I've created, just let me know. Waddles🗩🖉03:13, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
Yes! I’m happy to see a fellow Bush fan here too! You know under the “Music userboxes category” the codes for the most popular ones, such as Soundgarden, “this user is outshined”, the code is more like (User Soundgarden) as opposed to User:Name/Userbox/[Soundgarden] . Do you know why this is? Difference in the code, maybe? Musicbladesuitbox (talk) 23:46, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
@Musicbladesuitbox: It actually doesn't matter how the title is formatted and they're only different because of how the specific user prefers to format the userbox page's title. While I prefer to go with User:WaddlesJP13/Userbox/Bush, another user may also do either User:Name/UBX/Bush or User:Name/Userboxes/Bush, User:Name/User Bush, User:Name/Bush, etc. I add a '/Userbox' after my username to make them slightly more organized, while someone who is just creating one or a few userboxes may just called it User:Name/[userbox]. I think the 'User [userbox]' name format may just be a relic from when they were all in the Template namespace (named that way to differentiate the userboxes from encyclopedic templates) and it just became standard for some users. Hello! I see you have made some very nice userboxes for five political parties in Luxembourg, but not for déi Lénk and the Pirate Party, which, though small, have representation in parliament. Could you make them? Thank you! Procrastineur49 (talk) 21:59, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
@Procrastineur49: Hello! Sorry for the delay. Here are the userboxes:
