Pokémon Emerald Merge Discussion

Hi there, I'm not asking you to reconsider your vote (Far from it, actually) but I did just want to say that after discussing the discussion with another user, I feel as though the points I made in that discussion were a far cry in terms of quality and largely incoherent. I'm going to let the discussion run its course and refocus on improving some other articles for the time being, but I did just want to shoot an apology by for what I deem to be improper form in a debate such as this. I'm really sorry about the bad form, and I hope I didn't cause too much inconvenience for you with my replies during that debate. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 05:36, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all! I thought it was a pretty normal and considerate discussion and didn't enter the territory of WP:BLUDGEON as someone suggested. The proposal was a coherent one and made sense, just maybe with differences on whether demarcating these articles seemed like the best approach. I'm mindful I can be pretty contrarian too on policy discussions so this definitely wasn't discouraging for me, and hope it wasn't for you. All the best. Gunner HEAT PC

> Unfortunately lacks notability under WP:GNG due to having no review sources and little significant coverage from reliable sources. The PC Gamer article seems to be the only independently reliable recognised source under WP:VG/S. I'd recommend seeing if there's any reviews of this game and creating a review section as per WP:VG/MOS and go from there. Happy to chat if you need any help or questions.

Isn't SteamDB an independent reliable source?

I also found some non-english blogs and articles today, one of them includes an interview with a dev, that interview appears to be reliable to me at first glance, it matches some things i've seen said by the devs on discord D1d2d3d29 (talk) 11:01, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, unfortunately it's not, see WP:VG/S. Also, it's a primary source at any rate. I added some comments to the page - I'm sorry this isn't getting much closer to notability. You're always welcome to seek a second opinion or guidance from the WP:VG talk page! VRXCES (talk) 11:29, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Improvements Made to Address WP:COMMERCIAL tenor

Hello VRXCES,

I received your comments on the draft page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Gamezop. Based on your feedback, I’ve made several improvements to address the concerns about WP:NCORP, WP:CORPTRIV and WP:COMMERCIAL.

  1. Removed WP:CORPTRIV Content: I’ve reviewed and removed trivial details that did not add significant value to the company's notability, focusing on events that better illustrate its impact in the industry.
  2. Simplified Language: Business jargon has been removed, and the language has been refined to ensure a more neutral tone, aligning the content with Wikipedia’s guidelines.
  3. Pruned Sources for Quality: The list of references has been reassessed, retaining only those that provide in-depth insights and removing less substantial sources. This should make it easier to identify high-quality references that establish the company’s notability.

I hope these changes address your concerns, and I would appreciate it if you could review the draft again with these updates in mind. If you have any further suggestions or areas where you feel more adjustments are needed, I am more than happy to incorporate them.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Morekiranwiki (talk) 08:09, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK?

Hi, I saw the article you recently made He Fucked the Girl Out of Me and I think it may be worth nominating for WP:DYK, would it be ok if I went ahead and nom'd it (or if you simply did it yourself)? Iostn (talk) 19:47, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Go for it! What's the hook? VRXCES (talk) 20:20, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't actually written it, I'll come up with one when I get round to nomming it I think Iostn (talk) 21:06, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I was looking at an article you worked on and followed a link back to your profile. The last sentence of it has a link to your Twitter account, but looks like you deleted that. :) ThistleChaser (talk) 19:29, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh damn! Good pick up. Which article was that? I should probably find a way to get rid of that. VRXCES (talk) 22:13, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Backyard Football Draft

Hey. I just found out you declined my draft. Really sorry I missed a few details. I've just been having trouble finding sources related to Backyard Football. Most Backyard Sports-related articles are related to Baseball instead (I was lucky that How Backyard Baseball Became a Cult Classic had a brief mention about Backyard Football preceding Backyard Baseball 2001 and the fact that the former was the first to include pro players before the latter). And the reason I only had one review listed was because that was the only one I could find. I found that review on Mobygames, but there were only three other reviews; two of them didn't even let me onto their archived websites and the other one just didn't look reliable enough. Besides, the game isn't even on Metacritic; the only versions available on there are the GameCube version and the 2010 version. 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:C536:DF6B:1EB6:F37B (talk) 13:54, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

After you declined my Backyard Football draft, I started looking for more places and wanted to personally ask you, do you personally think that any of the BYF reviews on GameSpot might be notable enough to add? 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:C536:DF6B:1EB6:F37B (talk) 18:16, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you shoot me the link of the GameSpot review? The Allgame review would be definitely reliable - none of the Mac magazines are listed as RS but could be decent reviews if the content is alright. VRXCES (talk) 08:40, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[1][2]
These are the only GameSpot reviews that are related to the original 1999 BYF (the others are either related to the GBA or GC versions). Also, the Allgame review is offline, and I don't know if I could find the full thing. 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:31E4:4606:ECC:9966 (talk) 22:12, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
V R X C E S, are you there? 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:849D:3C14:8056:3DCB (talk) 00:26, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delay - unfortunately, the GameSpot reviews are actually GameFAQs user reviews which are WP:USERG and not reliable under WP:VG/S. These are just random people reviewing the game. I thought you meant GameSpot reviewer articles. I reckon the Internet Archive and some sleuthing could salvage the other print/web reviews. VRXCES (talk) 00:41, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see. I guess we'll just have to wait until the release of its remaster to find more reliable sources. 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:60DF:4591:D68D:E4AA (talk) 21:57, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Improvements to Address Notability and Tone for Gamezop Draft

Thank you, VRXCES, for your feedback. I’ve thoroughly revised the Gamezop draft to address both the WP and WP concerns. I’ve removed business jargon and promotional language to ensure a neutral tone. Additionally, I’ve organized the references to highlight the in-depth, independent sources more clearly. Please feel free to review and let me know if further improvements are needed. DYK for He Fucked the Girl Out of Me

On 20 November 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article He Fucked the Girl Out of Me, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a review described He Fucked the Girl Out of Me as being about "all the ways in which American society fails its most vulnerable"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/He Fucked the Girl Out of Me. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, He Fucked the Girl Out of Me), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
