By the way, I don't agree with your removal of my first square bracket. The convention is standard (Brackets [sometimes called square brackets] are used to enclose editorial interpolations, corrections, explanations, translations, or comments in quoted material: Chicago Manual of Style). Halliday doesn't start the quote till "are very fond of strangers…"; presumably the naming of Belerion appears earlier in Diodorus's account, which is why I used the square brackets. I haven't got the Payton book, and so I don't know if someone has come up with undisputed Phoenician evidence since Halliday wrote his book (I live at Tintagel and haven't heard of such finds round here). I don't rule out that Phoenicians came here, along with the various other Mediterranean seafarers we know about; after all, Iberians are known to have colonised Cornwall and Ireland, and Cornish tomb-building styles can easily be traced back to the Mediterranean. But speculation is no good for a Wikipedia article; assertions have to be those made in reliable sources. As for saffron cakes, sheesh! Anyway, good call. qp10qp 14:54, 22 October 2006 (UTC) Ine and EgbertI've put up a draft paragraph at Talk: Cornwall, if you'd like to have a gander. qp10qp 22:55, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Fox family of FalmouthWas fascinated to come across them - had vaguely heard of them before, but hadn't known much about them. DuncanHill 15:15, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Davies GilbertI think he encouraged Humphry Davy, and had something to do with Gideon Mantell (the palaeontologist) also - don't have any ref's to hand tho'. DuncanHill 15:06, 2 November 2006 (UTC) I have tried to answer your questions on the Davies-Gilbert Family. GweekIn that it is more easily reached from Helston than Falmouth, then I would say yes. Why? LessHeard vanU 00:18, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

{{helpme}} Someone deleted my userpage and started editing in my sandbox. I have now changed my password. Can you find out how they did it and stop them doing it again, please? === Vernon White (talk) 23:27, 1 December 2006 (UTC) Hi Vernon39. I have reverted the changes and fixed it. No need to be alarmed, this is a wiki. Every page can be edited by anyone :) Just for the tape though, [1] shows you actually removed all the text yourself — Deon555talkdesk 23:30, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi, just discovered Josiah Fox - he seems to have been a Quaker from Cornwall, so thought you might be interested! DuncanHill 14:56, 17 December 2006 (UTC) I have added a further note to the Talk page. To bed now! === Vernon White (talk) 00:30, 18 December 2006 (UTC) And another! Your messageThanks very much for that. It is messages such as yours that make this such a nice place. Very best wishes, --Guinnog 21:21, 20 December 2006 (UTC) Change to Common.cssPer recent discussions, the way in which Persondata is viewed by Wikipedia editors has changed. In order to continue viewing Persondata in Wikipedia articles, please edit your user CSS file to display table.persondata rather than table.metadata. More specific instructions can be found on the Persondata page. --ShakingSpirittalk on behalf of Kaldari 02:14, 25 December 2006 (UTC) Fry FamilyThanks for adding Joan Mary Fry. I should probably work on her sister Margery who ceased to be a Quaker but was heavily involved in prison reform (and whose biography is on my bookshelf).--Erp 05:06, 30 December 2006 (UTC) Holford/FuelI thought that the Fuel link would enable WP users to see the other sorts of business this Battersea firm engaged in. It hasn't much of a Google presence so far! However, I bow to your advice. === Vernon White (talk) 17:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
I have removed the notability tag, but it would be nice if you could use some reliable, third party, published, non-trivial sources, as is explained here so as to prove that the group is definately notable. J Milburn 21:08, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Quaker templateThanks for adding the Quaker template onto Kenneth E. Boulding. In the future feel free to add the assessment tags for tracking on the Quakerism articles by quality page. So far I'm about the only one to do so, and it seems like the priority rankings there might be better served if there were more opinions shared. --Ahc 05:03, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia BiographiesSeeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 23:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Charles Hastings (canadian Public Health physician)An editor has nominated Charles Hastings (canadian Public Health physician), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charles Hastings (canadian Public Health physician) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Bernard Deacon, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.institutes.ex.ac.uk/ics/deacon.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 17:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC) Hello. Actually, my bot did not delete your article— all it does is flag it as having the the same contents as that of an external website. The admin Butseriouslyfolks is the one who deleted it some time later; you're probably better off asking him about the deletion. — Coren (talk) 22:07, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
HiHi Vernon, I just had a blank email from you, addressed to my Scouting email address (not the one attached to my WP account). DuncanHill 21:54, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
GweekWell, yeah, I felt I had to add the tag. One of the major mistakes new users make in referencing content is that they do it improperly by adding external links to a homepage, without establishing how that is linked to the subject of the article, or whether it is a reliable source or not.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 09:24, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Cornish & KlingonI have closed the Cornish and Klingon thread on my talk page with a very bad-tempered bout of "getting it off my chest". I just wanted to say that nothing in my spiel is directed at you - you have behaved well throughout, for which I am very grateful. Best wishes, DuncanHill 22:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC) You deserve one of these
