I'd heard of it before (relating to OSs specifically), but I'm glad there's an extended treatment of it here at last. Cheers! Most of the previously written articles on Chinese people are using a hyphen. example if you search for Sun Yatsen it re-directs you to Sun Yat-sen. Now I'm not about to try and change what is already written to conform to wiki standard, but I think we should try to stay on it for any new article or major re-write. What do you think? Do you know which volume General Yue Fei’s biography 《宋史•岳飞传》 appears in the History of Song records? The reason I ask is because I have written an article about Zhou Tong, Yue Fei’s archery teacher, who is briefly mentioned in the general's biography, and I would like to check my information. I have never read the biography as my Chinese is VERY poor, but I have corresponded with people who have on the China History Forum. They are the ones who gave me the information regarding the 《宋史•岳飞传》 on my Zhou Tong page. Unfortunately, most of them are unaware of which volume the biography appears. On Chinese Wikipedia, there is a link to an internet site that has a 470 volume version of the History of Song. (See here) I rely on internet translators to read Chinese pages, but the one I use didn't do a very good job. Do you think you could find it for me on the specified site and send me the link to his biography? Plus, if you see anything wrong on my Zhou Tong page, I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Thanks. (!Mi luchador nombre es amoladora de la carne y traigo el dolor! 03:30, 18 October 2006 (UTC))
Need helpVarious people have been adding noncanonical and fake harware to the lists on the AC country pages. I'd really appreciate support deleting them. For reference, the correct ships are: Osea Nimitz CVN Ticonderoga CG Hatakaze DDG Cassard FFG Oliver Hazzard Perry FFG Coronado LCC (Possibly the Andromeda, we should allow closer matches to the ship to replace this, if any are found) Yuktobania Admiral Kuznetsov CV Kirov CGBN Kongo DDG Sovremenny DDG Krivak FFG Scinfaxi SSCBM Iowa BB Whidbey Island class LHD Typhoon SSBN Akula SSN (modified) Pegasus class FAC(M) Hovercraft (Class still unknown) Belka Kongo DDG Sovremenny DDG Krivak FFG SSK (Class unknown) Erusea (Same as ISAF) Kitty Hawk CV San Giorgio Class LHD Hatakaze DDG Cassard FFG La Fayette FFG AOE (Class unknown) Pegasus FAC(M) Los Angeles SSBN There is no doubt in my mind about any of these unless otherwise noted. All of the Osean, Yuke, ISAF, and Belkan ground hardware is correct. I'm sure about everything in Erusea, with the exception of the mobile AA and mobile SAMs. If someone finds something more accurate that what I think they are, allow it to be changed. I only removed the ADF-01 and X-02 (only included as easter eggs, non canon) and added the B-52 and C-130 (Look closely on the planes in Mayhem and Flicker of Hope. They seem to be implied as Osean, but they have Ustian markings) Also, that is the OADF insignia. The billboard behind Sorcerer 1 is an advertisement for the OADF, plus it's the insignia on every plane in AC5, so, I'm reverting that. Zaku Two 02:41, 31 October 2006 (UTC) "Ji Ping' articleSpeaking of Cao Cao as though he were Satan? What's this then? I wrote the article, and I don't have a problem with the guy. Why don't you tell me what areas of the article make Cao Cao appear to be Satan? Besides, it's somewhat hard to paint somebody in an affectionate light when they happen to be torturing and mutilating a person for the duration of the article. Gamer Junkie 17:55, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
That's an exaggeration on my side. I'm not saying you literally wrote him as Satan...you get my point. The overall tone of the article vilifies Cao Cao and overglorifies the physician. Here are the sentences I have issues with:
By then the Emperor is already in his late teens, at least. He's not young and naive, he's powerless. "Taken hostage?" That's really a nice way to describe the situation. Also, who's to say Cao Cao is really the villain he is so often portrayed and Dong Cheng is really a loyalist?
Ruthless?
Cunning trap? What's so "cunning trap" about a simple safety precaution? etc etc. One more thing, in Chinese, the last name comes first. So in the case of Dong Cheng, instead of saying "he overheard Cheng speaking in his sleep" you should really say "he overheard Dong speaking in his sleep" I actually don't have a problem with the torture part. Regards. _dk 18:14, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Cao Cao was certainly no hero. Brilliant? Yes, merciful? absolutely not. Or perhaps you believe he showed Ji Ping mercy? Not to mention a myriad of others such as Chun Yuqiong whom Cao also mutilated after capture. So, yes, Cao Cao was ruthless to a fault. Cao's safety precaution was a carefully laid plan devised to capture Ji Ping in the act. Perhaps you don't feel it was very cunning so feel free to remove that if you so please. Regarding names. I'm aware of that, I was using their given names, not their clan names. I do believe we are allowed to do that. Speaking of biased viewpoints, you sound as though you're defending his actions. Even speaking from a neutral perspective, what he did to Ping was horrific. Gamer Junkie 19:23, 22 November 2006 (UTC) Do note I'm not contesting your claims, I'm concerned about the tone. Not even the Hitler articles would get the adjectives Cao Cao is getting here in this article. Holding the emperor hostage would mean "I've got the emperor! Don't move or I'll put a hole in his head!" or something like that. About names....let's use a Western example: In an encyclopedia, would you use "George" to call Bush? Of course you're allowed to, but it's unconventional. _dk 02:25, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
I would prefer the term "puppet" to "hostage" though. As much as I depise the man, I would still have to write "Bush" instead of "George" or "Dubya you sad little prick" because this is an encyclopedia =D _dk 08:35, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Rather than listing them I think I'll go change them myself sometime...but it's all there above. Thanks anyways. _dk 08:45, 23 November 2006 (UTC) Please don't use cut-and-paste to carry out page moves or renames. Review WP:MOVE for details. Thank you. Owen× ☎ 02:37, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
