If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask at the project talk page, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 12:07, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Dab linkTwirligig, thanks for your note on linking to dab pages. While I'm sure I'm guilty as charged, the link you actually gave me was to a page I've never edited. If you use a bot to generate those messages, you might want to tinker with your coding. Cheers - Draeco (talk) 22:50, 8 February 2009 (UTC) Lady crab Dab linkYes, you are quite right Twirl, guilty as charged. I thought I remembered that substrate was a direct link, and it isn't. (However, everything else I did to the article was a huge improvement, so I forgive myself one slip!) You sound like a very interesting person, it's nice to make your acquaintance, Invertzoo (talk) 21:11, 15 February 2009 (UTC) Hi, me again. If you get a chance you may (maybe) want to look at the article on menopause and see if there is anything you can do to improve any part of it. I am only a biologist, but I've done a lot of work on fixing it up from time to time, however some parts are still a bit rough. It gets consulted a lot, about 2000 people a day. Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 21:17, 15 February 2009 (UTC) Thanks so much. I hope someone can wade in and help it. It's not always easy working on a big topic like that, and not all medical types are also good writers. By the way, by any chance, do you ever get to look at Journal of Consciousness Studies? Not the article but the journal? I figure you might find it interesting. I will sort out all disambig links. I will sort out the references. I will also, given time, correct my spelling mistakes (although I am happy for other to do so). I am happy for you to correct my mis-applied links but whilst an article is under construction most editors would welcome a little free-air just to sort out the basics before receiving little slaps on the wrist about poor linking. Priorities before protocol may be a good watchword (or three). Thanks. Velela Velela Talk 22:05, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
what is case management?you look like you might be interested in helping with this Talk:Case management#disambiguation and merge needed. any thoughts ? Earlypsychosis (talk) 00:57, 26 April 2009 (UTC) Strong work!
Human developmentNot trying to be a pain, but instead of removing the link, why not fix it? I virtually rewrote that entire page over the past several days so there is bound to be mistakes here and there. If I had realized that the link went to disambiguation page I would have corrected it, but that makes me ask, if you went to the effort to remove it and post on my talk page, why not just fix it instead of removing it?--Jaretac (talk) 19:31, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
"Greetings! Thanks for your contributions to Darwish M.K.F. Al Gobaisi. One of your recent edits included a link to human development, a disambiguation page. The use of these links is discouraged on Wikipedia as they are unhelpful to readers. In the future, please check your links to make sure they point to articles. Thanks! twirligigT tothe C 19:16, 16 June 2009 (UTC)" Hi thanks...just responding to your comment above. The intended/target article link is appropriate. The "Human Development" article is really short, and maybe I will expand it further to include Ecosystemic Sustainability (Social, Educational, Economic, Natural Resources, etc.)when I get the time/opportunity. Keep up the good work... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vinayaka94 (talk • contribs) 12:48, 17 June 2009 (UTC) Ahhh...I get it now...sorry beginner's ignorance/mistake (the discussion on "Human Development" disambiguation). Thanks for the correction. I learnt something today! Vinayaka94 (talk) 14:30, 17 June 2009 (UTC) The Pulse (WP:MED newsletter) June 2014The first edition of The Pulse has been released. This is the first of a series of newsletters for Wikiproject Medicine's Translation Task Force. Our goal is to make all the medical knowledge on Wikipedia available to the world, in the language of your choice. note: you will not receive future editions of this newsletter unless you *sign up*; you received this version because you identify as a member of WikiProject MedicineSpotlight - Simplified article translation Wikiproject Medicine started translating simplified articles in February 2014. We now have 45 simplified articles ready for translation, of which the first on African trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness has been translated into 46 out of ~100 languages. This list does not include the 33 additional articles that are available in both full and simple versions. Our goal is to eventually translate 1,000 simplified articles. This includes:
We are looking for subject area leads to both create articles and recruit further editors. We need people with basic medical knowledge who are willing to help out. This includes to write, translate and especially integrate medical articles. What's happening?
I've (CFCF) taken on the role of community organizer for this project, and will be working with this until December. The goals and timeline can be found here, and are focused on getting the project on a firm footing and to enable me to work near full-time over the summer, and part-time during the rest of the year. This means I will be available for questions and ideas, and you can best reach me by mail or on my talk page.
For those going to London in a month's time (or those already nearby) there will be at least one event for all medical editors, on Thursday August 7th. See the event page, which also summarizes medicine-related presentations in the main conference. Please pass the word on to your local medical editors.
There has previously been some resistance against translation into certain languages with strong Wikipedia presence, such as Dutch, Polish, and Swedish.
Integration is the next step after any translation. Despite this it is by no means trivial, and it comes with its own hardships and challenges. Previously each new integrator has needed to dive into the fray with little help from previous integrations. Therefore we are creating guides for specific Wikis that make integration simple and straightforward, with guides for specific languages, and for integrating on small Wikis. Instructions on how to integrate an article may be found here [3] News in short
