BoldI have just reverted a number of your edits because you replaced bold by italics in mathematical notation where that affects the meaning -- see MOS:BOLD#OTHER. --JBL (talk) 17:49, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer grantedHi True Pagan Warrior. Your account has been added to the "
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. signed, Rosguill talk 14:38, 2 August 2023 (UTC) The Signpost: 15 August 2023

Case fixingTPW, I'm happy to see your interest in helping with case fixing. I did a few hundred thousand such edits myself in the last year and half, after learning how to use JWB, but recently got careless, made too many mistakes, and got cut off, as you can see at User talk:Dicklyon#Notice of editing restriction. So now I have lots of work that I can see how to do easily, but am not allowed to. E.g. see the 7 articles I refer to in this edit. For the rest there, you've now got Fyunck(click) on your case. He fought long and hard against lowercasing Singles and Doubles in tennis articles (they were already lowercase in Olympics tennis, but not otherwise). I think I mentioned that, at that time, there was no consensus to also lowercase Men's and Women's, and he's taking that as a negotiated compromise it seems. So, proceed with caution. Let's not rush this, but we may need to open up a bigger RFC to get a more clear consensus. Unfortunately, inviting all the sports-related projects will likely draw a few more like him. New pages patrol newsletterHello True Pagan Warrior, Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews! October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here. PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon. Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD. Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge. Reminders:

Please stop moving sports articles to non-capital lettersYou know this was being discussed and moving things during the discussion is considered disruptive. Moving articles like 1999 Dubai Tennis Championships – Singles or Athletics at the 1999 Pan American Games – Men's decathlon should not be happening at all. October 2023Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to 1983 Custom Credit Australian Indoor Championships – Doubles. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. You have been told in edit summaries and on your talk page that this is disruptive editing. You have left me no choice but to give a formal warning. Fyunck(click) (talk) 23:17, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at Swimming at the 2015 European Games – Men's 1500 metre freestyle, you may be blocked from editing. This is an undiscussed move against longstanding consensus and you know it! You also know it is under discussion. You have been told several times and already been warned not to do it yet you continue. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:00, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you move a page disruptively, as you did at Boxing at the 1984 Summer Olympics – Welterweight. This is going to wind up getting you blocked! Even an administrator has told you to stop. @The ed17:. You have now moved another three articles including Diving at the 2019 Pan American Games – Men's synchronized 10 metre platform, and Swimming at the 2013 SEA Games – Women's 200 metre butterfly Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:39, 21 October 2023 (UTC) The Signpost: 6 November 2023

Invitation to participate in a researchHello, The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey. You do not have to be an Administrator to participate. The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement . Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns. Kind Regards, BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:26, 23 October 2024 (UTC) The Signpost: 6 November 2024
