New Message! Heads up!Hello, You have at least one new message here. --Tito Dutta ✉ 03:25, 19 July 2012 (UTC) TAFII have done some more work towards trying to get the project ready. If you'd like, please take a look and see what else you think needs to be done. AutomaticStrikeout 19:23, 6 August 2012 (UTC) Idea labI apologize for the nature of my oppose there. NFCRSorry i didn't act upon NFCR but i found i am unable to judge whether free use is warranted or not :P and i cannot get a proper grasp of the free use policies. :( Sphilbrick suggested i look into text © violations so i've been trying that instead. Thanks again, benzband (talk) 08:47, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Animation_InternationalHello Toshio Yamaguchi, I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Animation_International for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia. If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, SarahStierch (talk) 05:22, 20 August 2012 (UTC) Talkback: you've got messages!Hello, Toshio Yamaguchi. For your information...Thanks to Ryan Vesey we have our first nomination in the WP:TAFI project, so I'm notifying all the project members. AutomaticStrikeout 20:18, 25 August 2012 (UTC) Barbara Cartland novelsLacking references and notability in accordance with WP:BOOK, the guidelines would suggest that the many articles you are creating are best either deleted or redirected to the author. CfD notificationFYI...Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2012_August_26#Category:Wikipedians_open_to_being_called_NFCC_zealot. VegaDark (talk) 04:03, 28 August 2012 (UTC) Prod vs AFDYou asked at the Village Pump the other day about why prod is preferable to AFD. They both run for seven days minimum, so neither is faster. What matters is the amount of people-time, rather than the amount of calendar-time. AFD requires the direct involvement of multiple people, typically one to nom, a couple to comment, and one to close (or re-list, if a couple of people haven't commented yet). Prod requires direct involvement by only two: one to tag, and one to review the tag. Prod is therefore more efficient with our most limited resource, which is attention from people like you. That's why prod is preferable for uncontested deletions. WhatamIdoing (talk) 00:37, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Tien Shinhan.png)Thanks for uploading File:Tien Shinhan.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:11, 18 October 2012 (UTC) Disambiguation link notification for October 24Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wieferich prime, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Function field (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Perhaps you can't state (and why I won't state) the exact cause, but it's blatantly apparent from various edits in his last 50. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:12, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

JSTORHi there. You're one of the first 100 people to sign up for a free JSTOR account via the requests page. We're ready to start handing out accounts, if you'd still like one. JSTOR will provide you access via an email invitation, so to get your account, please email me (swallingwikimedia.org) with...
The above information will be given to JSTOR to provide you with your account, but will otherwise remain private. Please do so by November 30th or drop me a message to say you don't want/need an account any longer. If you don't meet that deadline, we will assume you have lost interest, and will provide an account to the next person in the rather long waitlist. Thank you! GoodbyeI am sorry to see you have gone, although I can empathize somewhat with how you feel. I would like to thank you again for your help in starting this project. Best wishes, AutomaticStrikeout (T • C) 19:05, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Thank you...Thank you for the offer of assistance. I will definitely take you up on it, but first... ...I am very glad that you have decided not to leave Wikipedia, and look forward to the day you consider yourself a complete editor once again. (Though I believe no editor is incomplete, just as it is impossible to have half a hole.) In the meantime, the outline I need help on is Outline of natural language processing. It is still under construction, and needs topics gathered to it and annotated. The outline hints at the day when computers will be able to understand everything we write or say, when they will be able to communicate with us and each other in our languages. It is interesting to see the components this effort is broken down into. A most fascinating outline indeed. I look forward to your collaboration. The Transhumanist 01:55, 20 December 2012 (UTC) Topic miningIn order to gather relevant topics, I've found it useful to browse the webpages on the subject, rather than just Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia's articles on natural language processing are far from complete, and many of its topics are orphaned (not linked into its main subject articles). There are many branches (of the outline) to be discovered. The Transhumanist 04:06, 20 December 2012 (UTC) Working out the details at Wikipedia:Today's article for improvementThe RFC for TAFI is nearing it's conclusion, and it's time to hammer out the details over at the project's talk page. There are several details of the project that would do well with wider input and participation, such as the article nomination and selection process, the amount and type of articles displayed, the implementation on the main page and other things. I would like to invite you to comment there if you continue to be interested in TAFI's development. --NickPenguin(contribs) 02:42, 8 January 2013 (UTC) An invitation for you!

Template:Google Maps link has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. WOSlinker (talk) 15:22, 24 January 2013 (UTC) The tag is the least bad tag I could find. Basically, the article consists of a list and all of the items are Red links. I know it is a non trivial task to correct, if and when you write the articles then the tag can be removed. If you are aware of a better tag then by all means substitute that tag. MfD nomination of Help:Downloading article as PDFHelp:Downloading article as PDF, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Help:Downloading article as PDF and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Help:Downloading article as PDF during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 00:57, 28 January 2013 (UTC) ChecklinksHello Toshio,
That thread is closed. I closed it because it is heading straight toward personal attack argumentland, and clearly there is a consensus against that proposal. Everyone has explained their position, and no one is going to be changing their minds. Don't reopen it. Prodego talk 00:27, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
ST:VOY episode imagesToshio, I'd like to merge the
Voyager imagesyou may want to group those together under a single topic at NFCR - I've got a comment on this that relates to something I already approached the TV project about regarding such images but can be addressed as a group. --MASEM (t) 14:35, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Grutness on your user pageI'm not sure what the purpose of the table is on your user page, but Grutness is still editing (or perhaps "editing again"). If it's there to document reasons for decline, or something else that Grutness's editing doesn't prima facie contradict, please just remove this comment. Non-free file File:LANTONNOIS VAN RODE.JPGI do not know who added this image to articles on the medals the subject is wearing, but I have removed it from those articles. I can see no reason why the articles, which both have pictures of the medal, need non-free pictures of this particular medal-holder. Aymatth2 (talk) 17:14, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
