Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia! MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:37, 20 December 2013 (UTC)William Lynch LamarTo be realistic, the problem of the article William Lynch Lamar is plain notability. Wikipedia uses independent, reliable, prior published sources to establish notability. An obituary as almost single source is not enough for that, especially because it makes not clear what makes mr. Lamar special. Being a soldier/officer is not unique. You give no indications for medals or other awards. To make it even more difficult, genealogical sources are usually not regarded as a reliable source. Especially, when used by the author of that same book... So, what we need is independent, reliable, prior published sources to establish notability. The Banner talk 22:00, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
It appears that this does not meet the notability requirement. Tlc356 (talk) 13:45, 5 November 2014 (UTC) Hi, ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!Hello, Tlc356. I encourage you to explore more academic materials for biographical information, in addition to the self-published XLibris book by Coughlin. It does not meet Wikipedia standards for Reliable Sources (RS), which are supposed to go through third-party review before publication. Noland's FerryThank you for your work on the Noland's Ferry article. I could get some images for you to illustrate the article with reasonable ease - are there any in particular that you'd be looking for? I would probably wait for the first green of spring in March for serious photography, before the leaves are fully out, but can scout the location now. Acroterion (talk) 18:43, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
