Accounthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Thepresident1 apihi, can you drop by the irc://irc.freenode.net/mediawiki and ping me (yurikbot)? We can discuss how i can help there. Thx. --Yurik 08:47, 11 November 2006 (UTC) I need some help from a Admin (which seems to be you). The talk page of the recently deceased Gerald Levert is filled with alot of "Rest in Peace" type spam. I was gonna delete it, then i thought i'd get a whole bunch of people pissed at me and/or get a revert war started. So, if you would please take a second and deal with this situation, that would be great. thanks. dposse 16:53, 11 November 2006 (UTC) American RevolutionHey! Haven't noticed you around American Revolution lately, we're progressing well, and I just wanted to let you know that all of us could really use the help of such an experienced editor as you. I realize that you're stressed, but I just hope that you can come by soon. Thanks! DoomsDay349 22:38, 13 November 2006 (UTC) So many boxesI'm new and not quite sure how to make user boxes and chage how the way my user page looks. In fact, (I'm in the dark about everything about Wikipedia) I read that since you are a wikipedia expert or something, and none of the pages have anything to help about the userboxes and background clouring, so if you could just help with a bit of that would mean wonders. What I'd like to find out from you is whether we have now addressed your concerns or not. If not, can you say what other issues you have, and how we can fix them? By the way, I requested an uncompressed version of the French offline reader - we expect to hear from Emmanuel tomorrow. Cheers, Walkerma 05:53, 20 November 2006 (UTC) VandalismI'm not worried about not being able to edit, I was more worried that they'd just wait until they got home and use their home computer to screw up the page. I'll keep an eye on it. I've talked to them about it on no uncertain terms. So, we'll see. -- §HurricaneERIC§ archive 23:26, 20 November 2006 (UTC) Q about stubsIf a article is short but basically no more information can be added, why does it qualify as one? Like Mute City? Someone recommended to write to you, since your are fluency in both languages and write in both English and Spanish Wikipedia. I would really appreciate your help.--Tasc1 05:30, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
The first in my family came in 1786, and he was at the time the most important merchant in the Rio de la Plata (Gaspar de Santa Coloma). There is a book from a recognized biographer, expert in history, regarding his memories (Enrique de Gandía, in "Buenos Aires Colonial"). Even the Residential hose for the President was donated by members of my family. And the history extends from the independence war (Colonel Brandsen and others) to the fait for the Reconquest from the morocco’s in Spain, by the year 844. Also, Bonifusus de Sancta Columba (all version of the last name), was the first person in having a Patent granted (XIII century) by Henry III. And the musician Sainte Colombe of France, is very will know. I could continue for pages, but it is not the issue here. Thanks a lot for the fit back. Perhaps I should write it in English (probably there are still some "de Sancta Columba" in UK), but I would like to avoid the same problem and have to erase everything after so much work. In addition, I would need your help fox to improve the grammar and style, if you are willing to help in such a long history, that even is related to Nessie and Arthur (indirectly). Kind regards, Tomás Santa Coloma.--Tasc1 05:08, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Besides, the attitude of the sysop, being a Judge, a person with interest in the results, also indicating that he dislike the work, and then blocking myself in the middle of the voting process, is at least a non-ethical behavior (I might be wrong, of course). Do you know if Wikipedia has some appeal instance that can act over Wikipedias in other languages when the administrators abuse of they power? I would really appreciate any help in this issue. I worked very hard in that page (197 kb and now I was forced to reduce it to 120 kb). Something else, one administrator said that independently of the results of the voting process, he will erase the page anyway, arguing that it does not complain with the wiki policies (without specifying which paragraphs do not). Regards. --Tasc1 04:53, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Titoxd, that was a great idea. Who can be in a better position than someone that is familiar with both wikipedias. I’ll try to contact them. Thanks, regards, Tomás.
Discussion requestI noticed your remarks on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Discuss and Vote; I would appreciate it if you could take a look at WP:DDV, and indicate if it accurately represents the way Wikipedia works (and feel free to reword it if it doesn't). Basically it states that AFD (etc) are not decided by vote count, and in general voting is discouraged (but not forbidden). Thanks. (Radiant) 10:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC) Could you please add any info, if any, from this link (in spanish) about gert to it's article. Something strange is going on with {{Class parameter}} I think, as there is some strange code at the bottom which should only show up in <includeonly> tags. I'd fix it myself, but I am not sure I would do the right thing. Could you take a look? Thanks! You can reply here if you have comments. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 16:17, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very muchI wasn't going to send thank-you cards, but the emotional impact of hitting WP:100 (and doing so unanimously!) changed my mind. Wikiproject councilThe reason I reverted was because it was added by Nathannoblet, who I think intended to use it in Wikipedia Signpost work. If this is an internal thing, feel free to revert, but I'm still under the impression that this was his doing. Ral315 (talk) 01:22, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
From Talk:MexicoTitoxd, like I said in the discussion, I am an admin at another wikipedia [3], not at this wikipedia, just in case you didn't read my comment correctly and were accusing me of not having the "sysop". And at least on our wiki, admins cannot see the IPs of registered users but upon request. If that is not the case in this wiki, I would very much appreciate if you could direct me to the appropriate meta page to request that feature for our wiki. Now, if you had followed the debate you would have realized that we have been telling Alex, ever since the beginning, that there is no proof of his statement; and that the only quantitative measurement for standard of living is the HDI (which in itself is debatable) and it would prove him wrong, since Argentina's HDI is higher than that of Mexico. Therefore, the sentence had to go, and I don't think a consensus has to be reached for that, but I asked Diegou to wait for Alex to respond before making any changes so that he could provide a verifiable source for his claim. His repeated reversions to his previous statements while ignoring the debate (except for accusing me of sockpuppetry) do constitute if not vandalism (I might have exaggerated) at least a violation of basic etiquette. --Alonso 00:34, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Assessments section of project GuideAs the writer of the section, I thank you for the copyediting. I've never been that good a writer. The section you "nuked" was admittedly one that has never been tried to my knowledge. However, I think that I was trying to get across a hypothetical "best practice" which has never actually been tried yet. Of course, there is a very real chance it never will be tried, so it might be pointless to have it listed then. Anyway, thanks for cleaning up my often overlong run-on sentences and frequently hard-to-follow constructions. I just can't seem to get rid of them. I do try, though. You commented that design I "looks bad as a sister project thumbnail." I assume that you're referring to the thumbnail at the top of the page, but that's only an auto-scaled version. The actual sister project icon would look more like this: TanyaIt was originally at User:CrazyC83/Tanya95 which has been blanked. That is where the edit history is. However, that writes off all the original Tanya articles which were later merged. Nonetheless, feel free to merge it in. CrazyC83 23:04, 13 December 2006 (UTC) Announcement

This shortened late issue covers just global tropical cyclone activity in November, to prevent the next newsletter from being too large. Tropical cyclone activity
Editorial The lateness of this edition is due to me being on an wikibreak and no-one taking up the slack. My wikibreak was the result of a lightning strike damaging my internet connection and frying my router, and the time taken for the replacement to arrive. As this issue is almost 3 weeks later than planned, only the monthly cyclone activity for November has been included. The next letter will be produced for January 7, 2006 and will be larger than normal to cover both month's Wikipedia news and December's tropical activity. There will be no Member or Storm of the month in January, to reduce the length; and the newsletter will return to normal in February.--Nilfanion (talk) 21:59, 22 December 2006 (UTC) AWB AccessWould you mind specifying exactly what edits you are referring to and explaining exactly what I am doing wrong?
