Thank you for your vote of confidence in my recent request for bureaucratship. Even though it didn't pass, I greatly appreciate your support and hope I will continue to have your respect. Thank you! Flcelloguy (A note?) 22:48, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi Titoxd. I see you are on wikibreak, but I wanted to thank you for your support vote on my RFA. The final result was a successful request based on 111 support and 1 oppose. --CBDunkerson18:10, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Community Portal colors
Do you have some suggestions for colors for Draft1a? Can you show me the colors you'd prefer, or provide links to them? --Go for it!00:03, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Our RfAs
Hello Titoxd: Thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 77/3/0. I hope I can perform at the standards expected for administrators. If I make any mistakes, or you need anything, please let me know. Prodegotalk01:47, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Some break ;-). Anyway, I had not been aware that you attend ASU. Yes, you must tell them about the upgrades we've had since 5150, Tito. —Encephalon13:41, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Clarification on 2005 hurricane question
Just to clarify what I meant by in my lists of questions. I meant "Does the community need to make its mind up about how to format 2005 AHS articles before the 2006 season starts? -- Nilfanion00:09, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
IW Board of Regents
You are invited to take a postion on the Institute of Wikipediology's Board of Regents as a representative of the Hispanidad for your longtime contributions and support of the Wikipedia community. Please respond ASAP. Thanks. -JCarriker02:52, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
I posted the poll concerning the Community Portal to protest the reversion of the Community Portal to a months-ago version, and specifically asked in the poll for the immediate reversion of the reversion by having Wikipedia:Community Portal/Redesign/Draft1a returned to its proper place. The plea has gained overwhelming support, and the community has made it clear that they want that draft back on the Community Portal page. The CP is protected, so this requires that an admin do it. Please copy draft1a onto the Community Portal. Sincerely, --Go for it!17:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alertsprogram aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.
Hi Titoxd. I don't want to mass thank everyone because that wastes server space, but I wanted to personally thank you for your support in my RFA, since we talk in the counter-vandalism channel on IRC.--Adam(talk)20:46, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
WVWP
Hey, I'm going to borrow your template for contacting the WikiProjects (except for the Arts, since at least one has not been contacted). Hope you don't mind. (Oh, and perhaps it's archive time). —Mirlen13:26, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Recently a POV paranoid rant was created at Hispanic supremacism, that I place a NPOV notice on. While the topic of Hispanic racism is a worthy Wikipedia topic, this current article makes no attempt at NPOV, further more I am not sure that the title is the most accurate or appropriate for this topic. Would you be willing to collaborate on an NPOV article on the topic? Please get back to me soon. -JCarriker00:25, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Regarding WVWP, thank you so much for keeping the momentum going while I was away. I'm still busy (catching up - it's about midnight & I'm in my office at work procrastinating), but after tomorrow I will go from busyness level 8-9/10 to perhaps 7/10, and I'll be able to help once again. You are of course right, there are probably 100 new projects since we copied over the list, but I think you have to work with a fixed list or you go nuts. For our next round of contacts (coming soon?) we should indeed update our list, and Interiot's list is of course fabulous for that. I had no idea there were so many WikiProjects listed on en! The list we have been using was copied from the main listing in Oct 2005, and I think it was about 300, so I suspect quite a few WikiProjects never even bothered to list themselves! Thanks again, Walkerma04:05, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
request
could i request that you add a support tag prefix on your reponse at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#Highlight_search_box? i wasnt sure whether i could add it as it's implicit? i'm assuming that a show of support tags is both the usual way of doing things, and the only way the proposal will get the go-ahead to be implemented.. (i'm still new at these things ;) thanks :-) --Quiddity06:52, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
ahh, sure thing. makes sense. (i'm just over-eager as it fell off the VPt page without getting answered the 1st time through there (but got quick reply the 2nd). hence, this is the 3rd time i'm shepharding it through a VPump, and it wasnt even my idea! (delegate delegate delegate..)) ;-) --Quiddity07:00, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Heh, yea. However--and I'm not sure if this is my doing or not--the image seems to have problems displaying in the article and when I try to view it at maximum resolution. --tomf688{talk}00:23, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Argh, you're kidding. -.- Essjay asked me to run it last night, I didn't realise there was already a script for it on the toolserver. Argh! Argh! Jude (talk, contribs, email) 06:09, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi Tito. We got your message at the WikiProject Argentina talk page regarding messages for the WP Version 1.0. Truth is that we have a lot of Class B articles and very few Class A. Nevertheless, there are almost minimalistic stubs that should still be part of your version, say for instance 4 years-presidentMiguel Juárez Celman. On the other hand, there are fine (Class A or B) articles that are perhaps not so important to the Wikipedia, such as Cumbia villera. If you give me a better idea of what is it that you want, I'll try to make a list of articles (or list of categories) to include in your release. Mariano(t/c) 08:22, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Wikiproject Peru
Hello, I also saw your comment on the WP:Peru talk page. Like the user from WP:Argentina, I'm also doubtful about the extent of FA or A-class Peru-related articles. Some of the following articles my interest you however and could possibly be mentioned in what you are planning to do.
Andean Community: Not strictly Peru-related (though Peru is a member of CAN) but I think this would at least be a B article.
South American Community of Nations: Again, not strictly Peruvian-related, but I think this is possible A-class material or at the very least B-class.
Ollanta Humala: I editted alot of this article, so I might be biased, but I think this is possibly a B-class article. He currently finished off first in the first round of the Peruvian national election, 2006 and could possibly win the second round to be the next Peruvian President.
War of the Pacific: One of the most important wars in Peruvian history where Peru lost mineral rich territory in the South to Chile (still brings up lots of resentment from the Peruvian side). The article is, in my opinion, quite good. Possibly B-class article because not sufficient citations.
Cenepa War: Not exactly the greatest article, in my opinion, but covers a very important, recent topic of the War between Ecuador and Peru. You can judge for yourself if it is a B-class article.
Lima: Capital of the country, some problems but good enough to be B-class.
Alberto Fujimori: Former President, launched auto-coup pretty much making the Legislative branch powerless. Very important figure in contemporary Peruvian politics. Spotted some POV in some parts of the article, but for articles regarding Peru this is definately one of the largest ones I've seen with contributions from people outside the Peru Wikiproject. Possible B.
José Carlos Mariátegui: I am just mentioning Mariategui because he is such an important political figure in Peru. Not sure if article would fit B though.
I wrote this for the Ivan article, what do you think?:
Following the storm, federal aid poured into the hardest hit areas. Over $1 billion was spent on relief and recovery alone. Thousands of fallen trees had to be removed. The wreckage was stacked in piles across the devestated areas in Florida and Alabama, some as much as two stories high. Church mission groups, Habitat For Humanity and other non-profit relief organizations lined up to do whatever they could to aid in the rebuilding process. Civil engineers carefully laid out plans for reconstructing the terribly eroded beaches. They pumped sand from the sea bed onto the shore and gradually built the beach back up.
The US sent financial aid to the Caribbean nations affected by Ivan's wrath. Nations throughout the region worked to support one another in the recovery efforts. On Grenada, for example, international relief crews and volunteers flew in to assist in the clearing of debris and the distribution of supplies. Even through these many efforts, visible scars from Ivan remained for a couple years after the storm and the mental scars may never go away.
Hello. I'm a member of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. We recently began assessing articles using these criteria, and we are are asking for your help. As you are most aware of the issues surrounding your focus area, we are wondering if you could provide us with a list of the articles that fall within the scope of your WikiProject, and that are either featured, A-class, B-class, or Good articles, with no POV or copyright problems. Do you have any recommendations? If you do, please post your suggestions at the listing of all active Places WikiProjects, and if you have any questions, ask me in the Work Via WikiProjects talk page or directly in my talk page. Thanks a lot! Titoxd(?!? - help us)06:56, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
No problem. BTW, what are "B-Class" articles? I can't find anything about them, so I didn't know if we had any. Also, the A-class list seemed rather limited. Is it complete? --日本穣 Nihonjoe05:59, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi... I have been working on automation to create article classification tables from lists of categories. It's not quite ready for prime time but I'm wondering if it would be useful in this endeavour and where best to ask/talk/offer about it. You can see what I've been up to in User:Lar/Sandbox2 That's a somewhat backlevel version of what my code can produce. It also links to an (even more backlevel version) of the code itself. ++Lar: t/c11:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
So the toolserver isn't working for enwiki now, so hopefully your java counter will get a little more exposure. People on IRC were complaining about it being java though. :) Meh. I'm not sure what I'll do now... try to write a bot maybe. I dunno, java isn't for me. --Interiot20:54, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Sure, but I'm going to be away for a day or two because I'm visiting Cornell to try to select a college (I didn't get into any of my higher-ranked colleges :( ). I fixed it up as much as I could, and the new code is in the sandbox right now, and I'll see if it works okay enough for others to commit it.... --AySz88^-^05:00, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, the toolserver is down now, and the project is now linked to from my edit counter, so it may get more exposure now. On the other hand, I think that Java is generally inconvenient compared to web-based tools (eg. this). --Interiot09:57, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I made some last little changes and the JAR is here; I'll leave my computer on, and hopefully Optimum Online doesn't notice the web server on that port and block it.... I'll ask around to see if someone can hack together a little documentation, since I think I did something special a while back and I can just double-click on the JAR, but I think not everyone can do that.... :/ Sorry I have to leave right when I'm needed..... I'll be sure to work on this lots when I get back. --AySz88^-^13:41, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Welcome back from your Wikibreak. I hate to bother you with this, but I happened to scan the John Negroponte article again, and (probably as expected) it has been edited back into a substantially POV rant again (including the "controversial figure" description in the lead paragraph.) Just because a small subset of activists consider him "controversial" does not make it so. I've read your Wikibreak Rant, and I must say that watching the history of this particular article gives me real cause for despair about WP. Keep in mind that I really have no particular position here and don't know Negroponte from Adam, nor do I particularly care...it just burns me to see such obvious, slanted stuff like this included simply because people who DO have an axe to grind have more time on their hands and more dedication to proseltyizing, than do all of the mainstream, objective 'experts' who don't see it as their mission in life to go around charging at windmills and fighting what appears to be a hopeless, uphill battle for fairness and objectivity. I guess it's only the true white knight volunteers like you (until you burn out, which can't be long in coming) on whom the rest of us 'ordinary' people have to rely [big sigh]. Admin Coaching
Hey Titox, hope you're doing well. I was wondering about the progress of the Admin Coaching program since I haven't received any info, I know I signed up a fortnight ago but it feels muuuuch longer! :P I'm not needing a coach right now, but I'm going through a rough patch at present. And if you can have a minor say, could Celestianpower coach me? He's been helping me a lot with the FA and we're friends already if that would make things any easier (I'd probably be done quicker with him). Thanks for reading this and good luck in the election! :) Cheers, HighwayRainbow Sneakers21:58, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Time frame
Hey, sorry to bother you again, but do you know the time frame in which WikiProjects should get in their list of articles in Version 1.0? Thanks. —Mirlen23:25, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Happy Easter! (or whatever standin celebration you choose to substitute, if any!)
Thanks a lot for keeping things going on WVWP recently! Regarding your posting on the wording for a new contact with the projects, I wanted to apologise for taking a while to reply. I think it's along the right lines but we need to sort out quite a few things before we go ahead. Can you please take a look at my comments and leave us your comments? Hopefully Shanel will comment too. All the best, Walkerma05:28, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
I knew from the moment I laid eyes on you that you were no good. A heart as black as pitch with an angel's smile, that Titoxd. brenneman{L}23:46, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
I get worried when people say I abuse my admin tools, sorry about my tone. I'll be back later (when I am less stressed). Prodegotalk23:41, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Judge sockpuppets
Hi Titoxd. I'm a relatively new admin, and I've been blocking the Judge sockpuppets on the spot. I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing, because the person is still making new ones. Isn't autoblock supposed to take care of that? Maybe they're using AOL...? ~MDD469623:45, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, how are you? I saw that you were fairly active at the moment, so I figured I'd drop you a line. Since you're back, did you want to take over the admin coaching coordination again? (I'd be happy to continue helping out, either way.) We should probably assign coaches to a few new users, and the coaches who are available at the moment are Voice of All, Kimchi.sg, and Petros471. I've also sent messages to Academic Challenger and Knowledge Seeker to see if they want to take on another user following their successful coaching of Petros471. Also, if you haven't already, please see the note at the top of this page. Thanks for your time, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Cool as well! :-) I've just created an account; I'm just waiting for the confirmation email. I'll let you know when I get that. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 21:09, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

UK Climate Change Programme Page on Wiki Out of date
Hi, as it says in the title, it's out of date. Here are a few things that need ammending:
The Kyoto target relates to the UKs basket of greenhouse gases, but the 20% target relates only to Carbon emissions so the statement: The United Kingdom's Climate Change Programme was launched by the British government in response to its commitment to the Kyoto Protocol on global warming. It aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions not only by the agreed 12.5% from 1990 levels, but by 20% by 2010. needs to be reworded in order to be accurate.
Also the article refers to the November 2004 Projections. These were updated in February 2006: http://www.dti.gov.uk/energy/sepn/uep_feb2006.pdf. They say that given existing measures (ie. no proposed future measures) and excluding the effects of the EU Emissions trading scheme, carbon emissions are projected to be about 10.6% below 1990 levels.
More information about the review of the ccp can be found in that article.
Sorry, I didn't know how to go about editing the page myself so I followed the links to this page in order to find someone (more experienced!) to update the page. Hope that's ok. Thanks.
When I requested to be unblocked a few days ago, I mistakenly pasted the text twice. I am trying to remove it, but noticed that you reverted my edit. I am not sure if I am doing something incorrect and am looking for you assistance. It would be great if the page could start with the welcome text again. ThanksGreenpoint18:27, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Hey there Tito. We seem to be crossing paths quite a bit in edit histories (such is the life of RC Patrol). A recent vandalism of some blatant obscenities was rv by me but warned by you. I just wanted to let you know that when you see an rv made by me, you can be confident that I'll add a warning to the user's talk page. Hope to see you in an RfA in a few months when I finally build up enough edits to even be considered. I'm still learning the in's and out's of the WP system so if you have any pointers (particularly ones that may help me in an eventual RfA..), feel free to make contact with me on my talk page! ••\\/\//esleyPinkha//\/\\•• 19:32, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
