I started jotting down some ideas about the Smaky page, went to eat, and when I got back, I wanted to add the full name of Prof Nicoud and the link to the smaky.ch ... and they were already here ! :) Really cool ! DisambiguationHi there, Thue! Thanks for your help disambiguating links to cell! It was a noble effort indeed. --Diberri | Talk 19:10, Jul 12, 2004 (UTC) Anonymous comment without contextit now is famous
I hope I can be forgiven ...... for marking my edits "minor" although, according to Wikipedia:Minor edit, which, thanks to you, I have now carefully studied, they are not minor at all. I would never have thought that we had a policy on that, but that's of course fine with me. So from now on I will drastically reduce the number of minor edits. Thanks for the hint, and all the best to you. <KF> 20:10, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC) Allied policyThanks for your words of support. That project has been criticized since its very beginning. It's good to know that someone finds that article interesting. Halibutt 19:25, Jul 19, 2004 (UTC) Administrator nominationHi Thue, it looks like you are not an administrator. I will nominate you to be an administrator if you would like to be one. See WP:RFA for current administrator voting. Regards, Wile E. Heresiarch 14:40, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Free sourceHi There ! I have asked permission to use www.onwar.com as source, however, my intention was not just copypaste article from one media to another. With all my projects and edits I simply forgot to write proper article for War of the Oranges. I will edit this one ready asap. Thanks for feedback anyway. --Kulkuri 12:42, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC) CongratulationsYou are now an administrator. :-) Please peruse Wikipedia:Administrators' reading list and Wikipedia:Administrators' how-to guide at your convenience, preferably before you exercise any of your new abilities. Otherwise, in general remain the same excellent editor you have been thus far -- if I may offer a word or two of advice, the important new things to remember are that all of your actions (including those which don't involve admin privileges at all) will now be seen by some in a new light. You may, in some cases, have to go the extra mile to be clear about your dedication to policy, and to emphasize your commitment to ideas like NPOV that govern this place. Furthermore, you'll find yourself more often in dialogue with people who are angry at you or angry at this site (and taking it out on you). Don't let their insults get you down, if you can, but do take any constructive criticism seriously. I trust you'll do all this anyway, given your record here, but I figure a note or two is always a good idea, if only to remind myself of the things I should be doing. Good luck, and congratulations once again. :-) Jwrosenzweig 22:30, 28 Jul 2004 (UTC) Comments for anonymous userYou left a comment on an anonymous user's talk page here. Probably because of dynamic IP assignment, I picked it up and not the person for whom it was meant -- that person has probably been assigned a new IP address and will never get the old address again. Just a note. You may find that it is impossible to contact anonymous users through the talk pages. Perhaps this comment could be posted on the specific subjects you were asking about instead.
Dear Thue! I didn't create the article on Alexandra Marinina (see article's "History" for yourself). My Wiki nickname is KNewman. 207.113.80.162 16:11, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC) Re: Giant isopodWow, thanks! It is a tool to help people interested in Denmark post articles they'd like to see, and to keep track of the existent coverage of Denmark. It can also serve as a place to address concerns regarding any aspect of Danish coverage on the english wikipedia. Hope you find it useful! In any case, could you please look at it and fill in any articles you know of that are not covered by the list? Thanks, Peregrine981 04:30, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC) Article LicensingHi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
OR
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" with "{{MultiLicensePD}}". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk) Changes ImplementedYour suggestion that a list with only one member is sorted however you want is a shrewd observation. Its good to know that there are some things no-one will argue about in Wikipedia. Reminds me of that joke about the race between the American and Russian presidents. Russian press reports "Putin wins race, Bush loses". American papers say "Bush was runner up while Putin was nearly in last place". --Mike C 22:51, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC) License of images on commonsThanks for checking, but yes, the public domain status of those images is indeed intentional. When I made them, I didn't really know anything about licensing, and so simply declared that anyone could use them for any purpose — public domain, I suppose. Some of my later images have specific licenses on them, but any of my images for which I haven't specified a license come under my earlier statement. Thanks again for checking. -- Vardion 14:25, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC) My bad: I included the wrong image as the reason for speedy deletion. It's a thumbnail of Image:Texas state capitol 1.jpg. I've nominated it again for speedy deletion. --MarkSweep 17:15, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC) Thanks for uploading: I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks, Kbh3rd 00:17, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC) Nice comment in db-template :). Thue | talk 15:59, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
