DeletionsWhy are you erasing all that gymnastics competition medals in all those athletes? Osplace 01:24, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
Maybe there should be some uniformity, but only if there is consensus on this. You have been WP:Bold and that is absolutely fine, but now that you see that there is some disagreement, some compromise should be reached. If uniformity in the table is required, the list of what competitions count should be agreed upon first. I honestly don't think it is necessary for there to be uniformity. But I see the other side. I suggest creating a post at the gymnastics project. I think it is pretty obvious that "European Championships" or "World Championships" is major, but what about pacific rim, pan american, asian games, african games, Jesolo. It's not clear. 2016 in artistic gymnasticsYou recently posted on my page and I wanted to reply here too, just in case. Okay, I really am sorry about making the sudden changes, and understand that you are upset. I'll try not to be so selfish in the future. However, I believe that the top season scores should truly reflect what are the current top season scores (regardless of a gymnast's national affiliation), so I wanted to get rid of the rule (I realize now I should have asked first, sorry!). Originally, I had the idea of imposing country limits so we could get a good idea of what all-around/event finals would look like at Worlds/the Olympics, but that appears rather unlikely. I understand if you want to reinstate it, but I politely ask that you edit whatever currently exists to reflect the rule (which was not previously enforced all that heavily but I digress) rather than undoing all the edits. Thank you, and I am truly sorry if I offended you. 108.51.166.81 (talk) 20:04, 19 March 2016 (UTC) Once again, I truly am sorry and realize I should have asked first. I hope you understand my reasoning, as odd as it may be. 108.51.166.81 (talk) 20:06, 19 March 2016 (UTC) Feel the Barn

By your logic the 2001 gold will go on top, the 2005 bronze will go on bottom, and they will be separated by a dozen of silvers from mixed years. Ordering by date allows much easier reading for a given competition. Materialscientist (talk) 23:25, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Simone BilesThe American Cup is a prestigious competition that is listed in the medal table of many gymnastics champions including Mitsuo Tsukahara (for example). It's even mentioned as a major accomplishment in the header on Biles own page. Selectively targeting Simone Biles medal table to make it appear smaller and less prestigious than gymnasts like Aliya Mustafina or her other contemporaries is biased and unreasonable. "Long time users of Project Gymnastics" are NOT an authority on Wikipedia entries. The entries should be consistent from comparable athletes, and they should reflect the World Cup events. The only "consensus" that needs to be considered here is between the two people debating this wiki entry (you and I). Citing what an irrelevant subset of gymnastics fans think is not a valid argument for continuously removing a major credential from an Olympic champion's medal table. Its not a matter of "opinion", it's a matter of fact. As far as I'm concerned YOU are the one vandalizing the page, so if you want to take it to an administrator, I'm happy to do so. I intend to carry on undoing the damage you are doing to Simone Biles page. Captainbryce1 (talk) 16:13, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Therefore, now Belgium is ranked 32 and Brazil 33.
2016 South American Artistic Gymnastics ChampionshipsHi. User:Sander.v.Ginkel brought your contributions to my attention. I first looked at Victor Rostagno, where I saw that you sourced the basic facts, but not his accomplishments. The sources say nothing about e.g. the Panamerican championships or other championships. I then looked at 2016 South American Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which you also created and which lists Rostagno as a gold medal winner. Looking at the sources, it is very unclear whether this is actually true. [1] (which I presume is the page you used?) gives the different results in the allround individual competition: but did this also count as the finals for the separate events? In some other major championships, these are done separately. In this case, I can find no indication either way. Do you have a better source with evidence of the medals for the individual events? That would also avoid such weird empty bits like the gold and silver medal for the men's vault competition. As far as I can glean from the texts like this, the individual finals would be had separately, but I haven't found results for this (are they even finished already? They seem to continue until today?). Fram (talk) 16:00, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

I have seen your past discussions about infobox medal tables and what should be relevantly included in them (especially the one concerning Simone Biles). I am not sure how familiar you are with the sport of wushu, but the sport has been appearing in several different multi-sport events. I would like advice on how to treat the infobox medal tables and the medal count template for wushu athletes. Sorry if I may seem a little excessive on this, it is just that I have been somewhat “alone” on this quest of improving and creating wushu-related articles and I just would like some confirmation of what I should do. Firstly, there are competitions held by the International Wushu Federation, such as the World Wushu Championships, Taolu World Cup, Asian Wushu Championships and there are a mix of competitions in multi-sport events. Concerning multi=sport events, wushu’s presence in the Asian Games and SEA Games seems to be quite solidified so it is reasonable for medals earned in these competitions to be in the infobox. What is the problem is that wushu has been sparsely featured in notable events such as at the World Games and the World Combat Games. Additionally, medals earned at the 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament are listed in the infoboxes of many pages under “Olympic Games (unofficial)” such as in Zhao Qingjian or Chai Fong Ying though this competition was a one-time but very notable event. Though having one or two medals in these “unsual competitions” does not hurt the infobox if such athlete does not have an excessively large medal table, if one were to earn several medals in international competitions (which will then require a medal count template in my opinion) and compete in these “unsual competitions,” we get something like Lindswell Kwok which looks quite ridiculous. A page similar to this but currently without the medal count template is Jia Rui. Pages such as Li Fai and Nguyễn Thúy Hiền earned several medals in significant international competitions but competed in the era where such “unusual competitions” didn’t take place. I have not included the medal count template in their pages yet because if I did so, that means Lindswell Kwok would therefore need the template (to establish stylistic consistencies across articles) and the page will look like it does now. I have some alternatives to this problem. Perhaps when the medal count template should be employed, I could see the opportunity of the medal totals being grouped by “Official Events” (as in IWUF-lead events) and “Multi-sport Events” (Asian Games etc including the “unusual ones”). Despite it being an effective form of organization, the only issue is that there is nothing significant about these groupings as in there is not like a “elite international wushu circuit” with regular meets like how there is in gymnastics or running. I have also thought about grouping the medal count template by “International” and “Continental” competitions. The positive besides it being another possible effective form of organization is that in Asia, medals earned in continental championships or multi-sport events can be just as or even more notable than those earned in international competition. The negative though is that this grouping seems somewhat unusual, and I don’t think I have ever seen it on this site. I am aware about groupings by event as well, but I do not think that is a good option because there is a mix of medals for single, combined, and all-around events. In summary here are the questions: 1. Should medals in “unusual competitions” (Beijing Wushu Tournament, World Games, World Combat Games, Islamic Solidarity Games etc.) be included in the infobox? 2. How should the grouping be in the medal count template when it is needed? Thank you.
