Archbishop Booth

@TJH2018: to be technical the reference I added is not specific to the COA - it does not mention it anywhere. However, I am faced with an utterly juvenile argument (which I have properly referenced) about the archbishop's COA. The reference does not have anything to do with it since it stands on its own & provides a reference to Archbishop Booth. I can see Wiki is not very welcoming to new (or at least correct) info. Hi L'honorable, there has to be a specific reference to the COA, or else how do we know if it is really his COA? When it comes to verifiability, enwiki doesn't tend to let it slide, if you know what I mean. All I can really do for you is to point you to WP:CITE, WP:VERIFY, and WP:REF. Hi hi - I am a bit fed up with this since I was ambushed by two folk who'll I readily admit know much about history (& one of them especially about ecclesiastical history) & I bow to their superior knowledge on such subjects. However, when it comes to heraldry they seem to have taken the bit between the teeth and basically downright stated that I don't know what I am talking about (yet apart from continuing to make such an accusation they don't cite anything which contradicts what I have stated). It's a bit difficult to reason with people who either have clearly made up their minds to oppose whatever you say or don't themselves know the subject. Let me elucidate in full (somewhere - because on the archbishop's Talk page another statement was made which doesn't make sense in heraldic terms). @TJH2018: I tried explaining all this on the relevant Talk Page but got bumped out when I tried to save my lengthy explanation. Anyway forget this for the time being - it really isn't that important - but is frustrating when constantly ambushed by people left right & centre who won't even let one leave a full explanatory note. Nowhere do they state anything other than they object - whereas I have provided links references etc. This is somewhat silly to say the least - hopefully someone in Heraldry Project can advise better (since I seem to be persona non grata). I don't like edition wars, either. I would like to have a factual, matter-of-fact discussion on the discussion page but it simply seems that the opponent doesn't want it. So what could be done? I have done so because not only becuse I am totally set on studying meterology at San Jose Statem, but also because the data has not been edited in several years and new monthly record highs have been broken. I started to edit the value of Hapoel Beer Sheva long as he was run-down and outdated, over time erased and changed things, however helped me more editors. And true that anyone can edit, but some things are negligible and there is no reason to keep them you will not see details of the games in Europe in big clubs in Europe.

username warnings

Hey, TJH, I'd guess you have CanaryBot's talk page on your watchlist, but I wanted to drop a friendly reminder here, too, just in case. We generally don't need to give warnings or notifications like that to accounts that haven't actually edited enwiki: quoth the username policy: except in extreme cases, it is probably not worth taking action unless the user has made at least one recent edit. Username globalization being what it is, we are bound to get cases like this, where a user creates a bot account for another wiki, which also creates it here. Unless they start actually editing specifically on enwiki, and CanaryBot hadn't, we don't really need to do anything about it. Otherwise, we just get people worked up over nothing. Better to just decline the bot's UAA report and let it ride. No big deal, of course, just future reference. :D Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 16:15, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Faanya Rose - Keep

Hello TJH2018,

The article Faanya Rose, the first woman president of the Explorers Club, is worthy of keeping. On the AfD page I gave my primary reasons. Since I am a new author (love Wikiepdia, but newly contributing), I thought I would reach out to you personally because you recommended the article for deletion. I would not want to over estimate the role of Ms. Rose, but I think to delete this article undervalues significantly her importance. As I say in my AfD comment, I know women "get" her as written, and value the information presented in the text as well as the carefully considered footnotes. The research and sourcing of this work was no trivial matter for me - months actually - many of the Rhodesian resources have limited or no access - many of the explorers club materials are disorganized or difficult to locate. Once this article is known to be posted (only the people who helped me with sources and pictures are aware) it will be accessed quite a lot. Can you tell me are there usage/access stats?
