Please see WP:BRD and WP:STATUSQUO. When someone reverts your edit, do not revert again -- see the edit warring policy page for further information about this. This is a content dispute, and since the content you're entering is being disputed by another editor (me), the burden is on you to get consensus for the change or convince me to let it through. If you would like to discuss this further, don't be afraid to take this to Talk:Mezmerize, and I'd be happy to discuss this matter further there. Thank you. Please note I have clarified that I am unaware if this varies by region, but to my extensive knowledge of grammar I am very certain that in texts (such as ones like this), punctuation marks go inside of inverted commas. I'd say you'd need to convince me otherwise of this point or to settle the matter of If this fact varies on region. Swedishprogressivemetal (talk) 22:51, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the late response, but I would like to respond to this: "I'd say you need to convince me otherwise." This is not how content disputes work, since I reverted your change initially, per WP:STATUSQUO. As I noted in my original comment, the burden is on you to prove your edit is correct through citing policies and guidelines that would support it being written the way you want it to be, not your own knowledge. Until you can do that, or enough editors agree with you on the way you believe it should be written, the article will remain the way it is. Do not restore your preferred stylization into the article until you get consensus for the change, per WP:Edit warring. I'm not trying to come down on you, but this is just the way Wikipedia policies and guidelines function. JeffSpaceman (talk) 21:14, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just so you know, I have changed the wording. The more I look at it, the more I think it looks clunky either way, so I have reworded it without any contractions. Feel free to let me know what you think. JeffSpaceman (talk) 01:14, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
