About your edits in Panathinaikos articleHello and welcome to Wikipedia! I saw your edits in Panathinaikos article and you should know that adding nonsense or removing necessary information from an article is considered Vandalism. I have to remind you that we are members of an world-known encyclopedia and not a fansite. So, try to keep a Neutral Point of View in what you write. So as you understand, adding offensive nicknames such us "Vazeloi" or removing historical facts is wrong :) --KaragouniS 19:06, 16 December 2006 (UTC) -Thank you! Nice to meet you. First of all I'd like to tell you that the nickname "vazeloi" is the most popular nickname of Panathinaikos and their fans. I didn't put it as an insult. It's a name that is referred around Europe in shows that have to do with Olympiacos-Panathinaikos rivalry (e.g. an Irish TV show about this derby that I've seen recently). So it's something that has a strong connection with the nickname thing. Secondly, as you said it's not a fansite but an encyclopedia and if you wanna be right we should put in Panathinaikos page all the information that are important and not only those we like. For example in the nickname section of Olympiacos the name "gavroi" has been put and it should have. And I'll finish saying that posting that "Panathinaikos is regarded as the most successful club" has nothing to do with neutrality. Few people regard PAO as the biggest club as Olympiacos is more successful (they have more titles) at 3 of the 4 most popular team sports football, volleyball, waterpolo and Olympiacos has won european titles in basketball, volleyball, waterpolo which put them in the club of giants in european level something that Panathinaikos is not (only in basketball). So, you should reconsider the above thing no matter if you're gonna change anything. Greetings!! --Sthenel Ok, the article was edited in order to be neutral. Also, the nickname "vazeloi" (meaning: the guys who use vaseline--KaragouniS 11:26, 17 December 2006 (UTC)) is not accepted by the majority of Panathinaikos fans and as a result is a swear. The nickname "gavroi" (meaning anchovies) is not offensive because it's refered to olympiakos' origin (the port of piraeus), so these 2 nicknames are totally different. PAO fans when they're asked about which team they support they usually answer "I'm a vazelos" so it's not an insult. Anyway.. Sthenel Your sigHi, could you please change your signature so that it will point to your user page and not to a (non-existing) article "Sthenel" in mainspace? Try: [[User:Sthenel|Sthenel]] in place of just [[Sthenel]] please, or just reset your user preferences to the automatic sig, which will do the same. Fut.Perf. ☼ 15:33, 4 January 2007 (UTC) 3RR Block

Nishkid64 01:16, 12 January 2007 (UTC) I didn't write the intro, I brought it into line with the MoS (my edit). I don't know who called her Greek-born rather than Greek; as, for all I knew, she might have taken citizenship elsewhere at some point, I left it (she lives in Portugal now, I believe). I changed your edit because you went from the correct "Greece" to the incorrect "Greeks" (that is, the lead mentions nationality, not ethnicity). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:17, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Is there a reason you are supporting this Original Research fest? Just because people took the time to write something doesn't make it meaningful to wikipedia if it is not a notable academic term, event or person. It is better off as a stub. You were edit-warring, quite blatantly (something like 10 reverts in 2 days?), so I can't help but saying that you were as much at fault as the anon here. I've protected the article and hope you'll both make some effort to work it out on talk, but please note that this might also lead to you both being blocked if the reverting continues. user Gon4zHi, I just want to let you know, that there has been trouble with user:Gon4z all over wikipedia for nationalistic editing- he usually pushes all numbers regarding Albania up and tries all the time to reduce the strength and power of Serbia and Greece. He showed a really nasty behaviour (insults, 3rr, edit war, unsourced material, user page vandalism, lies, and so on) at the Albanian Military articles ( i.e. Albanian Land Forces Command). Here you can see his talkpage before he blanked it: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Gon4z&oldid=128556210#Incorrect_Info.2F3RR_warning He got banned three times in a week for his actions and insults, but hasn’t learned his lesson, as his rude behaviour at the article “Serbian Air Force” and his increasing of all Muslim and Albanian numbers in all kind of articles of the Balkans show. If he insists to edit war with you or begins to insult you let me know and I will dig up the endless complaints about him in the administrator’s board to help you in case you wish to report him on the "Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents". Best Regards noclador 02:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I reported Gon4z to the Administrators' noticeboard as I found another large amount of insults he threw at users (i.e. "I can see you an American ASS licker"). Here is the link to the new discussion in which I request that he be banned once and for all, as he clearly is disruptive in everything he does. Please voice your personal complains at the new discussion too, thanks very much noclador 01:06, 2 June 2007 (UTC) WikiProject Greece Newsletter - Issue IX (V) - May 2007The May 2007 issue of the WikiProject Greece newsletter has been published. Ares and Athena were the two primary gods of war and battle in Greek mythology. Ares was a bully, a man who was cruel and fought dirty. Athena, on the other hand, stressed honor in battle and the use of tactics. Athena represents the brave warrior, such as in the Medusa story. Ares, on the other hand, represents the soldiers who surround the surrenderers and cut them to pieces once they are helpless. In the Iliad, Ares sneaks down to the battlefield where he attacks with a long lance while invisible and behind the front shield wall of his chosen side. In other myths, Ares bawls and runs when hurt only slightly. Etc. Cratbro 20:41, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
2.)
Again, it is "Ares", not "Aris". Ares IS often simply called "the God of War", but at the same time, he is portrayed as a coward. If you want something explicit, see Hesiod's Theogony. Cratbro 20:41, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Excellent Work on Euroleague 2005-06I suggest also making a separate article on that year final four. Just finished the 60-61 season, I also made a box for seasons prior to uleb euroleague. I'l make another one after FIBA reaign later. --ArnoldPettybone 16:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC) I disagreeYou cant underestimate the differences between the two. I'm making them exacly like the european cup\champions cup boxes, with links to one another. the basketball needs two diffrent boxes evan more then the football, they only changed the format. in basketball everything changed, from managing firm, seating arena specs. the works. Also I think I should move all the articles I'v made to a new location discarding the word "season". "FIBA European Champions cup 1957-58" sounds better and it has continuity with the later euroelague articles. --ArnoldPettybone 16:53, 3 June 2007 (UTC) I'v checked all sort of sport compitions articlesIn all of them the article conserning that season competition was in "details", not in the year. FIBA World Championship, Champions league. Its better that way becasue you have to remember that the season is not in one year, and someone not aware of how basketball/soccer operate will get the wrong idea. Greek diaspora in EgyptHi- re. your question [3]; I removed it because Category:Greek Egyptians is already a subcategory of Category:Ethnic groups in Egypt and I also didn't think it made sense to flood the main article on Greeks with categories about the diaspora communities. Ideally, that category should be in an article about Greeks in Egypt specifically, like for example Armenians in Egypt and Italians in Egypt. Alas, there is no article to date about Greeks in Egypt despite a history that goes back even before the Ptolemies, though it would be nice to have one. Most other articles on ethnic groups don't have such a long list of categories of its diasporic communities, esp. those communities that are fairly small. The Egyptian Greek community has been in decline since the 1950s. — Zerida 07:46, 7 June 2007 (UTC) Why did you edit the euroleague pageI think you know very well that SEF is in pireus, not athens. --ArnoldPettybone 23:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC) So does jaffa and Tel Avivthe first is municipally belongs to TA, but jaffa is a city with its own history and culture. never mind. --ArnoldPettybone 14:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC) WP:AthensI was hoping you could add your name to the WP:COUNCIL/P page to help get WP:Athens into existance. A literate native speaker of English is quite likely, at any mention of Robert Browning, to at least hesitate over the question of whether it is Robert Browning, who could have studied Byzantium as well as Aristophanes; similarly Captain William Shakespear is never introduced without his title, and usually his regiment. Page moveTwo points about your move of Greek American. First, article titles should always be singular, per WP:NC. The sole exceptions are terms which can never be used as a singular, such as scissors or trousers. Second, when a new title is appropriate the right way to change a title is to move the page rather than cut and pasting the content into a new article. Moving the page retains the full editing history that is required by the GFDL. If you have any questions let me know. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 19:17, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
OlympiacosI don't understand. Olympiacos, Olympiacos FC and Olympiacos CFP seem to be the same topic. If so shouldn't the articles be merged?
