Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Notability of Aron BielskiHi Stetsonharry I did a spot check of the first 20 or so "External Reviews" to reviews linked to at IMDb's entry on Defiance (2008). There was not a single mention of any of Aron's activities (or critique of the actor playing him). Hence I don't think it's correct to say that Aron is "one of the major characters in an Oscar-nominated movie", and I question the individual's notability whatsoever. I am not going to join in the talk page discussion, but if this article is nominated for deletion for notability concerns, I know my view. Bongomatic 06:59, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Violent SaturdayThanks for the kind words. As to the benzedrine, it's not mentioned in the movie, but it was a common addiction in those days, until benzedrine was finally disallowed as an ingredient in nasal inhalers. Great movie, isn't it? Orphaned non-free media (File:Cummings with Rains in Kings Row.jpg)Thanks for uploading File:Cummings with Rains in Kings Row.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. New stuffNew ideas that go beyond the guidelines are cropping up at Talk:Jayne Mansfield. Could you take a look? Aditya(talk • contribs) 11:06, 25 July 2009 (UTC) More Jayne MansfieldHi, User:Aditya Kabir disagrees because I reverted a comment at the image page and has pointed me to a couple of other edits, including this edit at the talk page of another user. You were giving him a gentle warning about removing a warning message, but you may not be aware, that even though it's not seen as good form, he is allowed to remove the message. The assumption is that if he's removed it, he's also seen it. Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace includes this point "....be sure to remember that any editor—including anonymous IPs—may remove messages at will from their own talk page." Much as I believe that removing the warning can sometimes be an indication of bad faith, he can remove them if he so wishes. Also looking at the message that was removed, he was accused of vandalism. User:Wbrz is not my favourite editor, but that particular edit was not vandalism, so he can't be expected to take kindly to that kind of accusation. If the strongest action he chose to take was to remove the warning from his page, that should have been good news for everybody concerned. Rossrs (talk) 05:14, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

I truly considered simply downgrading the article to B Class but was concerned that someone would take exception. My thinking was that the article had been around for over a year in this condition and called a good article, so two or three more weeks wouldn't matter. Frankly, I'm more concerned with what's going on with the edit warring over the wording of the one section in the article, that one of the editors involved in the edit warring is someone whose main body of work here seems to be 9/11 conspiracy theories and what is truly undue weight being given this particular incident. It's going to end up with the article locked (rightly so, I think) and possibly a lot of dispute mediation. Not particularly something I want to be heavily involved in, acutally. Hi, you may have already noticed but WikiProject Films are currently in the process of electing a number of project coordinators to serve over the next six months. Basically, the role of a coordinator is to help keep the project active and up to date, participate in relevant project discussions and wherever possible offer guidance and help to our other members. You already seem to be fairly active within the project and your mainspace contributions look fairly solid, so I think you would make a good candidate. You can find more info at the linked page above. I hope you consider putting your name forward! :) PC78 (talk) 11:35, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).
Stetsonharry (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I was so disgusted when I saw that I was blocked by Lar, a person with whom I was engaged in a content dispute, that I decided to let it pass. I have done a great deal of good for this project and I was so disgusted that I justed wanted to do other things with my spare time. But it grated at me so I have reconsidered, and am now requesting an unblock. This block was directly contrary to WP:BLOCK, in that it was carried out by an editor (Lar) with whom I was engaged in a content dispute over the now-merged article, Robertson vs. McGraw-Hill. Lar was vehement in his support for keeping this article, which has since been merged with Tiger Management as suggested by the closing administrator in the deletion discussion. I am not the sockpuppet of any user. My contributions speak for themselves. I have carried out 3609 edits, 2450 in user space, including eleven articles that were recognized as DYKs. My contributions were such that I was recently asked to run as an administrator. I have edits to 475 unique articles, and in all my edits, taking into consideration the learning curve, I have been a positive influence. I am actually proud of my contributions to Wikipedia. There was no basis for blocking my account, it was carried out improperly, and I request that the block be lifted. Stetsonharry (talk) 21:11, 21 February 2010 (UTC) Decline reason: Please appeal to the functionaries' mailing list; regular administrators cannot overrule a block based off of checkuser evidence. NW (Talk) 21:18, 21 February 2010 (UTC) If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).
Stetsonharry (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I would respectfully suggest that the block was such an abuse of administrator tools that it is incumbent that it be lifted. In effect, Lar "buried the evidence" by blocking me, making it impossible for me to bring his abuse of his tools to the attention of the community. The template placed on my user page says "see contributions for evidence." Indeed, my contributions are evidence of a solid contributor who is no one's sockpuppet. In such an instance, this merely proves that checkuser is a flawed detection tool. I have indeed brought this to the attention of the functionaries list, but I do not believe that administrators are barred from carrying out an unblock in an instance of abuse of administrator tools by an editor engaged in a content dispute with another editor. Decline reason: Checkuser is usually pretty reliable. If I understand you correctly, you're saying that the real checkuser results do not connect you with User:JohnnyB256, but that User:Lar has falsely claimed that they do in order to block you for reasons related to a conflict between you. That's the sort of accusation that it wouldn't be appropriate for me to unblock based on - especially since I don't have access to the checkuser results. If you're sure that User:Lar has lied about the checkuser results in order to block you unfairly, you should take the advice above and use WP:FUNCT. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:15, 21 February 2010 (UTC) If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Does User:Viridae get blocked for harassment and violating WP:OUTING? Does User:Lar get sanctioned for violating the blocking policy? Stetsonharry (talk) 00:25, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Paperback edition of The London Cage.jpgThank you for uploading File:Paperback edition of The London Cage.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale. If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Grace KellyHi, We are Cornell University students working on a class project that involves the editing of Wikipedia pages. We are all very new to the Wikipedia editing process, and as such we were hoping for some feedback from some more experienced editors on our edits to the Grace Kelly article. We were wondering if you could assist us by verifying our sources, which we posted [[2]] on the article's talk page. We were also hoping to make some minor changes to the structure of the article and were hoping for some input on that as well. Our plan for the new structure is as follows: PERSONAL LIFE
Career
Legacy

I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
