Duplicate images uploaded

Helen Garner and the Archibald

Hi Sterry!
Completely agree: you right, me wrong - and thanks for the WP:LS link, I am now much better informed! I moved the Archibald info to the lead section because I didn't put enough thought into where a better place for it should be. I notice it's still there - I rely on you to find a better place for it.
As for removing the criteria for the prize removal, even tho it was right, didn't like doing it. I wish the article was ten times as long, and every single thing she's published was linked to good articles. Then again, I've read even Cosmo Cosmolino - twice!

As for Cosmo Cosmolino, it's worth reading just for Janet's lines

I've fixed your talk archives

I was trying to find a message in one of my archives, came across our conversation in July about audio books and John Marsden, and was trying to read it in full. I noticed that your August archive linked to messages in September and October - I found that you had overwritten the August archive with the September-October one. I have cut and pasted that archive into a newly created September-October archive and reverted the July-August archive back to the way it was before. I hope you don't mind. I usually create a link to the archive first before archiving, to make sure that I'm archiving into a non-existent page. Another tip is to put talk archives on your watchlist, in case someone inappropriately changes an archive. Graham87 07:42, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

librarianship / subject headings

Hi Sterry2607 - nice to meet you; I'm Laura Quilter User:Lquilter. I'm also a librarian -- well, a former librarian; currently an information law attorney who works with librarians (in the States). Anyway, I wanted to respond to your comment on the editor's page about women writers. I too have been thinking about the use of subject headings and search terms in thinking about categories lately. If you don't already (or haven't previously) participated in categories for discussion, I think there are a lot of discussions that could use some sensible real-world approaches like that. ... the specific issues I was thinking of for subject headings & search terms wasn't women writers (although you're absolutely right) but other ethnic/occupational categories. Anyway -- obviously I have no idea what you might think about those issues, but I would love to see someone who's thinking about library & reference uses also keeping a weather eye on relevant discussions. ... Hello Sterry2607. To answer your question, I think it can go either way. I simply changed it to a format that I am more used to. Please feel free to change it back. I am spending more time adding references to various poet stubs because many of them have no, or limited, references. Tilly Aston

Sure thing: if you look at the history of my edit, you'll see a link back to here. This is a treasure-trove of photos I discovered a couple of days ago, completely by accident, so I added a whole bunch to some articles that caught my eye. It seems to me there is a bot there looking for pics on Wikimedia, and conveniently displaying them for anyone to pick up (the stuff is refreshed periodically). Moreover, clicking on a link does the pasting of the image automatically -- one still needs to tweak the placement and/or the caption sometimes. At any rate, looks like a great idea to me -- hope you'll find it of some use. Turgidson (talk) 07:51, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
