View User Page DO NOT ADD MORE COMMENTS HERE. Saskatchewan in popular cultureHello. As you know, it ended up being decided to delete the Saskatchewan in popular culture article. Although I voted for keeping it, I did understand the point of view of those who wanted to delete it. However, I thought the changes you were making in the last few days were really going in the right direction and I was expecting other people to take notice and engage in some kind of discussion about your changes. I was a little surprised that your efforts were ignored when the final decision was made. If more wikipedians had made an effort to offer suggestions about the way to improve it rather than being so ready to delete it, with your efforts and others it could have developed into something more legitimate and worthwhile. To be honest it was me who started the article and who maintained it for most of its history, and I see now that perhaps it was too trivial an article, but I wish I had gotten more constructive feedback earlier, and that more people had been willing to put in efforts like yours to steer it in the right direction before it was on the brink of deletion. I don't know if you have any aspirations to start the article again from scratch, but if you do, let me know, and I would be happy to try to help explore different directions for the article to work towards a hopefully interesting, legitimate one. But if you're not interested in starting it again, that's fine too, because I do think it would be quite a challenge to squeeze a truly meaningful and worthwhile article on the subject--that's not to say it can't be done, but it would be a challenge. Or maybe it wouldn't be, but I personally don't have enough ideas by myself to think about undertaking it alone. I have some vague ideas about how the article could be reorganized by themes rather than by places and kinds of media, and I have some thoughts about what some of these themes could be, but by itself this wouldn't be enough. But maybe if we could round up a couple more people who would be willing to contribute ideas and experiment and explore different directions, or if we could get a discussion going on the discussion page, we might be able to come up with something satisfying for us and agreeable to the general wikipedia population. But, again, if you're not interested, I would also be happy to let the idea drop. Anyway, no matter what, thank you for your efforts on the last article. You can leave me a message at my user talk page if you would like to contact me about this. Thank you! Moisejp 09:09, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Regina neighbourhoodsA useful addition you have made. Could you perhaps correct the opening sentence you added, which appears to have a typo ("neighbourhoods of subdivisions")? And also provide a definition of "neighbourhoods," as it appears in the sense you use it to be a technical term of art? And also provide a citation for the list you have inserted? Thanks! To you:
My most sincere apologiesI just was looking back and realized that on the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra discussion page I accidentally referred to you in the masculine. I would like to sincerely apologize for my ignorance, and for any other times I have made mistakes like that. I guess that's the danger of online communication. Once again, I am very sorry. You've done an awesome job with the locater map! Try on a few pages to see it whether works well. The U of S template looks good too. Talk to you later. Saskatchewan projectThank you for the invitation. I don't know that I really qualify. The articles that I have either begun or substantially added to are, off the top of my head, Regina (and a range of sub-articles relating to history and development); Regina College (later the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus and later still the University of Regina); Regina RC Cathedral; Regina Anglican Cathedral; Gravelbourg Cathedral; Qu'Appelle; Indian Head; Fort Qu'Appelle; the Qu'Appelle Valley; the Fishing Lakes; the Diocese of Qu'Appelle; Michael Peers.... A rather limited sphere of interest and expertise, I think. Masalai 09:51, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that College Building (Saskatchewan) was not in the list of building included in Gothic Revival architecture in Canada. I added a note to the talk page to see if it made sence to added it. SimonP was kind enought to added it so I have included a link to that page in the university article. I also left a note for him, thanking him for his contribution and asking if he might also vote infavor of the University article for selection in the Article Collaboration and Improvement Drive. Dbiel (Talk) 14:52, 15 July 2007 (UTC) Have you considered trying to contact the various editors of the multiple articles in Category:University of Saskatchewan that have not added their vote to the Article Collaboration and Improvement Drive? I did contact two editors that have interacted with my post and requested that they consider the article, but so far they have declined to do so. I think those who have edited University of Saskatchewan based articles in the past may be more receptive to the invitation. Good luck in your efforts, you are at least within striking distance. Dbiel (Talk) 15:01, 18 July 2007 (UTC) I have noticed that the article has fallen off the list. If you wanted to try listing it again I would be glad to add my name to support it and I would guess that most of the other previous supports would be willing to do the same. Anyway, this is what I had in mind for the Newsletter: That would be it. And for your question about how those two articles were not deleted, someone else actually removed the deletion templates from the articles. Highway 667, I assumed, was not deleted because the nominator was confused about Wikipedia's notability guidelines (the nominator did not know that highways generally meet notability requirements), and I guess Highway 956 was not deleted because there was more information that could be added, contrary to what the nominator stated - Apparently, he thought that "[there] isn't anything you could possibly say about it other than this" when talking about the 11 May 2007 revision (but just compare that revision to the current one). North Seahowdy, and thanks for your help on the North Sea. the references look great. the english article is now much better referenced than the german! there are still some sections from the translation that im going to be trying to work in somewhere which will be unreferenced (or, of course, youre welcome to do some of this if you see a good fit), but as of right now it looks much better than i had hoped. also its not so much that every section needs x citations, more that facts should be as easily verifiable as possible. i also appreciate all the other stuff youve been doing as the translated material (especially my sections) is still rather unpolished. As for DYK, i suspect despite the growth it wont qualify, though i would love for more people to be taking a look at the article. so here's hoping! Jieagles 04:57, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

This is what I have in mind this month: This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Xena, Saskatchewan, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Template:Saskatchewan Communities. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 03:20, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Saskatchewan Issues
Well, I tried to have to have it work like the WP: Novels. There are probably a few bugs to work out. I see it has been expanded more, which is good. Any information that could expand the article is a good thing. What about categories on the main article page? Great job on Wikifying it and whatnot. But the mayor is not who the article says it is. I believe, if I am not mistaken, the mayor St. Louis is Emile Lussier. I know him. Also, that other ways to cite stuff it good as well. About the St. Louis ghost light and train article should be in the St. Louis article unless it has sufficent information in it to keep it it's own seperate article. If it doesn't have enough information to keep it it's own article than merge it and re-direct that article to the St. Louis article.
More input from other WP: Saskatchewan members is welcomed. But I say it's good for the all things Saskatchewan. Great job in making an article for sports in Saskatchewan. I am interested in professional wrestling. So I don't know if that should be added to that article.
I don't know much about the University of Saskatchewan, so I haven't been too involved in that area. But I can contribute where able.
I have seen the newsletter expanded. But of course it's not necessarily done. I can add more stuff to it where able and necessary. I was looking at the list and I seen there was a list of ghost towns and I clicked on one and there was an article on Govenlock, Saskatchewan, but there no infomation on it. I was wondering if there is any place to find information on that ghost town.
On the Crichton, Saskatchewan article there is a starting of a sentence... "Back in the day" which sounds unencyclopedic. I will change that. Also expanding other ghost town articles and not just Uranium City.
Mr. C.C. 05:58, 7 August 2007 (UTC) Regina and southern SaskatchewanThat sounds like a terrific idea. I would of course be more than delighted to collaborate with anyone and everyone who has ideas to contribute to southern Sk articles. Have you also involved the other frequent contributors to these articles? There has been a recent infelicity as a result of a somewhat less-than-courteous intervention by an overseas contributor and regular contributors seem to have withdrawn somewhat from regular editing, which seems a pity, but perhaps they can be persuaded again to join in. Thanks again for alerting me. I appreciate it! Masalai 10:25, 8 August 2007 (UTC) SK Articles created ... a combined answer....Warm thanks for your kind words as to my contributions to articles on Regina and other southern Sk communities. I vastly appreciate your comments. (There are times when unkind and impolite words in this forum rather discourage one from contributing further, as I am sure you well know from your own experience with Wikipedia.) I am more than delighted to contribute to the Sk project in any way I possibly can. (Let us hope that knockers whose "contributions" consist only of wholesale deletions of text without any discussion and demands for citations as to matters of common knowledge might take a more positive attitude!) One question which perhaps could be investigated: I note that several Wikipedia articles contain extremely enlightening screen-saves of Google satellite maps. Does anyone in the Sk project know what the copyright status is of these images and how Wikipedia can legally use them? Virtually any article on a Sk community could be enormously improved by adding such images, but obviously one does not want to violate copyright. Kind regards, and again my deep thanks for your kind words. (I trust it is more than amply clear that I do not purport to "own" in Wikipedia terms the articles on the various Sth Sk communities I have contributed to.) You encourage me to contribute further. Regina and southern SaskatchewanIt is wonderful that several Reginans and southern Saskatchewanians now want to sign on and contribute their information as to the Regina and S. Sk articles. The more the merrier. I hope that you have also made overtures to the other recent regular contributors to these articles. Many have been somewhat scared off by recent discourteous interventions by a certain nosey parker in Brisbane, Australia (of all places) and her partisans in Sweden (huh?) and perhaps the new project will encourage interested parties to return to Wikipedia. Hi SriMesh,
It's been a little while since I've been involved in this particular project and even then, I was mostly involved in the Wikimedia Canada project and not the WikiProject Canada. In order to help you out, I fixed the interwiki links between the english and french projects. I hope this will either help you find what you're looking for, or maybe find some people better able to answer your question than I am. Ciao, Portal AdditionsI for the most try to sum up some of the article. Other times it's a bit harder. I know this from doing news reporting for pro wrestling sites. Plus you always source your information. Leslie Nielsen is from Saskatchewan. I thought he was from Saskatoon, but from Regina. I am wondering if Joni Mitchell is from Saskatchewan as well as I heard she was. Do you know exactly where. I looked on her article, but found no mention of it. Mr. C.C. 05:37, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your note. Actually, the article is not at Afd, it is only a prod tag which gives 5 days and anyone can remove the tag if improvement is foreseen. So, by all means, if you think the article will soon meet standards for inclusion, remove the tag. I won't contest. Have a great day. ♫ Cricket02 05:34, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Memorial Gates (University of Saskatchewan), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add A favour for WP:CANADAHi, I noticed that you're one of the few active members of WP:CANADA. I hate to bother you, but I was wondering if I could ask you a favour? I've cleared out all of the backlog of unassessed articles (quality wise) except for two that I contributed to significantly myself: John Babcock and Eric Peterson. I was wondering if you could assess them for me to avoid a conflict of interest. They've been rated by other Wikiprojects, and I suspect you can give them the same ratings with low importance. If you could do this favour, all WP:CANADA would have at least a quality assessment (I think I'll take a break before I start assessing unassessed importance articles though!). It is both concise, well-referenced, and provides an adequate summary of the article in total. - I'm not sure what issue (if there is one with the links) is apparent, but please do kindly point out any suggestions. - No available images of use as of now. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks Boomtish 06:14, 6 October 2007 (UTC) Re-editsI've touched up (or rather, touched-down) the lead of the article, as per the above suggestion. And no, I didn't place the article under the Wikipedia:WikiProject Sports. I'm assuming I should... Cheers Boomtish 08:33, 6 October 2007 (UTC) Hi SriMesh, thanks so much for looking at the Ryan White article. I made a bunch of fixes and I hope I addressed both your and the bot's suggestions. Left a comment on talk. Please let me know if you have any further suggestions. Thanks! --JayHenry 19:59, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

I have provided a preliminary review of the article Dyson Sphere to achieve good article status by addressing manual of style technicalities via a semi automatic peer review which is easy to install BTW if you wish to use it. With the error tags of citation needed the article could be quick failed please address this ASAP! Remove the statements or provide citations requested in the two separate places. The good article template shows the progress of the good article review to date. I have requested a second review regarding the scope and coverage of the article's information. Good luck with your article. SriMesh | talk 21:17, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Your recent editsHi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 15:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Another peer review this time a Semi Automatic Peer Review has been done to help this article achieve GA. Good luck. SriMesh | talk 02:55, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I noticed that you are reviewing One Rincon Hill. I think per the quick fail criteria, this article should be quickfailed because it does not meet the stability requirement. Future events, buildings etc. etc. are almost always disqualified from for stability reasons until they are complete. Hope all is well with WP:SASKATCHEWAN, by the way. Cheers, CP 04:32, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
RE: CanadaHi there. Thanks for your comments. As well, you might want to weigh in on the applicable polls on the Talk:Canada page (three, currently) regarding this. Thanks again! The Editor's Barnstar
"Semi-automated" peer reviewsPlease discontinue your use of these "semi-automated peer reviews" in conjunction with reviewing for Good Article status. They are not geared towards the Good Article criteria, and often are more geared towards very basic manual of style issues only. While they certainly have their use, I believe that including these reviews in conjunction with good article nominees can be very confusing to editors. I also personally find use of these semi-automated scripts a general "cop out" by the "reviewer" to avoid actually providing a serious review on the article. If you want to use the scripts, then it would be much, much better if you would just make the minor changes to the grammar, spelling, and/or wording yourself, instead of posting some very ambiguously-worded and unhelpful "list" of issues to the article, letting editors try and go through the article and make all of these suggested changes. Dr. Cash 05:04, 21 October 2007 (UTC) Singapore Stone: Automated peer reviewHi, you recently placed a "weasel words" tag on "Singapore Stone", apparently based on an automated peer review. This article previously underwent a previous automated peer review, and I have already taken into consideration the suggestions made there. As to the alleged existence of weasel words, I don't think there are any that haven't been backed up by citations. The Singapore Stone possibly dates back to the 10th or 11th century, and it just isn't possible for the experts writing about the artefact to be more certain about many aspects of it. It appears that the basis for the claim by both the previous and the present automated peer reviews is that the phrase "it has been" occurs in the article. I did a search for the phrase, and it only appears once in footnote 16, not in the main article. I'd argue that that is hardly an excessive use of weasel words. If you have identified other weasel words or problems with the article, kindly indicate what they are on the article's talk page within the next three or four days so that they can be attended to. Otherwise, I or another editor will proceed to remove the "weasel words" tag and request that the article be reassessed for Good Article status. Thanks. Cheers, Jacklee 19:33, 21 October 2007 (UTC) I note that you've removed the "weasel words" tag on reviewing my request. Thanks very much. It'll take forever, but I'll try to get all the new lists formatted and looking spiffy. :D Abyssal leviathin 03:22, 23 October 2007 (UTC) Thank youthanks for keeping me on the list, I will start working on SK again soon. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar sourcesHi, I hadn't noticed your comment on Talk:Klaas-Jan Huntelaar before, so I only just replied now. Cheers, JACOPLANE • 2007-10-30 22:41 Louis RielI see that you contributed to Louis Riel FAR by adding citations. Some citations are still missing from the article. If these citations are added I will close the FAR as keep. Joelito (talk) 19:38, 11 November 2007 (UTC) Award
Re: Template:WikiProject CanadaHello there you have made some comments regarding the aforementioned template. There are some Wikiproject Canada Workgroups such as Law, Political parties and politicians, etc, who have added syntax to the Canadian template, rather than creating their own assessment template. None of the provinces have done that - may they? Out of 10 provinces and 3 territories only 3 provinces have their own assessment template, 6 provinces including SK do not do assessments, 2 work groups do their own assessments, 6 workgroups include syntax with Canada wikiproject, and 3 cities do not do assessments, and Vancouver does theirs. note Is it ever that a province would add their wikiproject as a syntax code to the Canada wikiproject? I am involved more with SK wikiproject than the other provinces. Is it OK to have a wikiproject banner that supports the structuring of articles without assessment, and just add the CA banner for the assessment process? Or should the SK wikiproject change their banner for the talk page to include assessment? I have added this query to the newsletter also - trying to consolidate articles and such for SK. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 19:37, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Northen pike (uk:Щука звичайна)Hello, I've seen your request. I can help, but someone will have to fix my grammar and spelling. I would start translating right now; but, first, it is the night over here, and second, I am translating some other articles too. Don't worry, I will translate the article in some days. By the way, the literal translation of the article uk:Щука звичайна is Usual pike. Well, I will take it into account. Thanks for your request! A. Demidov (talk) 21:55, 30 November 2007 (UTC) The English version is more expandedActually, the Ukrainian article contains not too much data. However, I noticed some things about pH and such, which are not included into the English version. But generally, there is the minor difference. I can translate it. Maybe, I should also provide the pictures from the UWP?--A. Demidov Talk 11:45, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
You can watch my workI have the page User:Demidov2007/Translations. It is the page where I place the translated text to. Qu'Appelle, Ft Qu'Appelle, Grenfell and WeyburnOops. This comment was supposed to go here and wound up on your user page in Wikipedia Commons instead. The infobox in the Qu'Appelle and Ft Qu'Appelle articles look terrific, I must say. I'd like to add one to the Grenfell and Weyburn articles but I don't know how you went about creating the maps for the Qu'Appelle articles which show the locations. (Incidentally, though, you've got Qu'Appelle and the Fort rather nearer and to the north of Regina than they actually are.) You'll possibly have wondered why I went to so much trouble -- which might profitably have been spent on towns with more vitality -- over the Qu'Appelle article given that the "town" is nowadays little more than a village, and a waning one at that; but it has some historical interest well beyond its continuing admittedly marginal significance. Elizabeth QuarshieJust in case you're not clear, a deputy minister is actually a civil service position, not a political office. Elizabeth Quarshie is essentially one of the ministry's head bureaucrats, not a politician. Bearcat (talk) 00:00, 8 December 2007 (UTC) PEI Portal InvitationThanks for the invite, but I only edit that article to update the population like I do for all Canadian provinces and territorties. Pieuvre (talk) 04:17, 9 December 2007 (UTC) Just wanted to let you know that the pigments section has been prosified except for the bit about food coloring. I plan to add that tomorrow. Just don't close the GA Hold before then, thanks. Wrad (talk) 04:39, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
