More discussion;

There's been more discussion on the Surfin' bird article talk page. I notice you haven't said anything on it in awhile, but it's gone forward. Could you comment on it again?— dαlus Contribs 06:21, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your advice?

You previously blocked an IP for an attempted outing as a result of an ANI report I filed. The editor is still being harassed on his talk page by a user, User:Bytemeh, who is apparently affiliated with the blocked IP and the whole Emily Schooley AfD fiasco. This same user also filed a frivolous Wikiquette report against the account being harassed. Is there anything that can be done to stop the continuous harassment against the Deepsix66 account? I have no opinion as to whether the account that is being harassed is affiliated with a specific company as Bytemeh alleges, but the fact is that he has denied any connection and should not have to keep being hounded and subject to attempted outings. As it is a new account I'm unsure if he is aware of his options; it would be unfortunate to lose a new and productive editor over this. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:11, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't block (not an admin here), but I'd take it to ANI. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 14:41, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, not sure how I managed to completely lose the thread of that relatively short ANI dialogue. Sorry to have dumped this on your talk page, that's what you get for having been helpful at ANI :) Cheers, --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:48, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
PS. I've redirected my query to the blocking admin's talk page (verbatim). As there are continued outing issues I would prefer to avoid ANI if possible. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologize; if there are really continued outing attempts, it's a serious issue; if it's clear-cut harassment, then it needs to be addressed as well. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 15:27, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you take a look at other county and province/state articles, you will see that "administrative divisions" is often a stand-alone section. For example at the top of the alphabet see Albania, Armenia and Azerbaijan, or the more specific "Provinces and districts" at the Algeria article. I believe that that is a good usage, as individual users often come to a main article looking for the divisions, and often a specific one. I expect there to be enough info on each agency to have a good separate article. As you probably know the existing article on chapters is in need of much expansion. Thus I expect this section to grow somewhat. Also, the "geography" section usually contains the physical geography of a place. Economic geography is usually under "Economics". You may note that I moved the List of communities in the Navajo Nation to its own article. This seems to be a common annex to country/province articles. There are Navajo towns (broad usage) off-reservation, should these be included in the list? --Bejnar (talk) 16:30, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PR

You are most welcome. The Navajo Nation is a most interesting place. I don't think there is a formal equivalent for PR for articles that need as much work as this one, so in my opinion your request was entirely reasonable, and I was glad to help in a small way. I really would like to see the article improved to GA or higher. Some mention in the article of the Navajo Tribal Park system (Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, and others) might be worthwhile; they are tourist draws and contribute to the local economy. The geology of the place is also fascinating. Ditto the cultural history. Best of luck. Finetooth (talk) 04:15, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have access to a fair number of books on the Navajo. If there is a specific point that needs documentation, I would be very happy to try and find it. Just let me know on my talk page. I have been working on Burma geographical articles, there is still a huge amount of work to do there, but I am happy to work with you on the various Navajo Nation articles. I do think that country and province articles are good models for structure. Many of them have been through a lot of "editorial work". You might also want to take a look at the CIA Factbook structure. --Bejnar (talk) 23:03, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • In replacing that student paper source about Navajo mineral resources, I discovered that the student had plagerized a book. I have placed the sentence as a quotation for the time being. There may be other parts of the article that come direct from page 62 of Triefeldt, Laurie (2007) "The Navajo" People & Places. --Bejnar (talk) 23:45, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Denver Symphony Orchestra

Hello! Your submission of Denver Symphony Orchestra at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! cmadler (talk) 18:51, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support!

Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. I've just read your profile and I understood that you care much about languages avoiding the closing of the Chamorro Wikipedia and striving for Navajo (I wish I could help but I don't know anything about the language!) and that you also show some keen interest in many languages, so you understand what are a minorized language and culture and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm a member of a Catalan association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter (an intermediate structure between the Wikipedias and the Wikimedia Foundation) but this hasn't been approved up to that moment because Catalan has not got a/one state. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT or/and sign the list of "Members and Supporters" following the link on the template. Supporting us will be like giving equal opportunity to minorized languages and cultures in the future! Thanks again, wishing you and Navajo language and culture all the best, take care! You are doing a good job, keep on preserving minorized cultures and languages! Capsot (talk) 21:02, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo Articles

Hi, I would like to invite you to review my post on the kosovo articles here. you have been in discussion with me on this issue in the past and I would appreciate some comments. User_talk:Mdupont#Naming_and_status_of_Kosovo_pages thanks James Michael DuPont (talk) 11:14, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Seb. Did you know about the NMBCC? It's an index to all the plant and animal collections in a number of N.M. museums, including all the labels. Someone named S. Camazine has put Navajo names and sometimes brief ethnological notes on many of his or her specimens. For instance, if you query Tripterocalyx, you'll find this entry for a specimen of Tripterocalyx carnea var. wootonii (Standl.) L.A. Gal.: "Roadsides and vacant lots. A bullsnake may open its mouth and a web is protruded which upon contact with any portion of the body will cause it to swell. The seeds are ground with water and the paste applied to the swollen area. Sabibi awan idonakya, chick food; ushsha awan ak'wa:we, bullsnake medicine. To counteract being witched by a bullsnake."

If you want to do this, I suggest choosing "Query Data" and leaving all the fields blank except for "S. Camazine" in the "Collector" field. If you try it and have any problems, I'll be glad to help. —JerryFriedman (Talk) 05:53, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tip; the names in the example you give are actually Zuni. Couldn't find any Navajo. Where can I see what else said person has written? There is no "collector" field (at least I don't see it) Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 06:06, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, there were several clues that the words were Zuni, such as that almost all of S. Camazine's collections were from the Zuni reservation, not to mention "shsh", which I should have known isn't Navajo.
It seems you have to sign in to get the "collector" field. If you want to get a log-in, they're free and available to anyone, though you need a reason.
I just searched for Menodora scabra, which I'd read was important to the Navajos, and didn't see any ethnobotanical information, unfortunately. —JerryFriedman (Talk) 14:43, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
thank you again nonetheless; for the time being, I'm keeping myself occupied with old-fashioned books dating back to the 1800s, but should significant gaps remain, I'll get back to this source. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 21:08, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Action needed

Regarding your action here (diff), i need some help, as he did it again (diff). That's how even housekeeping edits can be controversial. Also, i dont think that he will stop, as user was informed about ARBMAC restrictions, (as you may see on his page), and his edits are opposed to agreement reached by ARBMAC. Please, some action is needed. --WhiteWriter speaks 13:45, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And just see his edits? He uses underscore in text, WP:LAYOUT is unknown to him, and continue to use ONLY Albanian names. This is not Albanian wikipedia! I dont know what to do else... This is too much for me, so i leave it to you. :) --WhiteWriter speaks 13:53, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I take no particular side in this. See my comment here. But the way he goes about it is "argh!" Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 13:56, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason you took off the reviews? Another user started to put them and I put more. I didn't see that there was a ban on this?

User:Trans-Dniestr

Matters at Talk:Transnistria (World War II)#Requested move suggested the possibility that Trans-Dniestr might be a sockpuppet of a blocked user. Since suggesting that is an involved process that appears to be full of unnecessary angst, I thought that I would just ask the user directly. The user is quite witty and I enjoyed the conversation, but it didn't get anywhere. I do think that the suggestion that Transnistria (World War II) be renamed to Transnistria Governorate is a good one, but I don't know how to get around the extraneous issues. --Bejnar (talk) 23:48, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. Frankly, you're close to making an ass (or mayeb "arse" in your case) of yourself. You should simply trust that others will defend you as well. Hello, I noticed that you proposed Mrika Tahiri for deletion because it was not written in English. Please use {{notenglish}} instead and list such articles at WP:PNT because articles in other languages get two weeks for translation before they are prodded. Speedy deletion converted to PROD: A Picture Says a Thousand Words

Hello Seb az86556. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on A Picture Says a Thousand Words to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question - it claims to be actually a film, not just a Youtube movie. what the heck is your problem

So i say that we need to solve this issue once and for all (the Bulgars) and you go delete it - how is that helping the problem, what are you getting at, all of you are just proving my point, why did you do that, dont you think that there should be an agreement and a concensus once and for all. The caps were from justgully founded frustation and to highlight important sections. What you did is really primitive and immature41.132.178.10 (talk) 20:54, 26 November 2010 (UTC).
