Happy Squirrel (talk) 15:27, 29 June 2015 (UTC) How to format GoogleBooks linksHello Saff, I notice that some of your footnotes are just cited as a title and "google.com". This is unhelpful because a reader can't easily see the author, date, publisher, etc. of the book. If you have any footnote to a book on GoogleBooks, please just take the link and plug it into the tool at http://reftag.appspot.com, and it will instantly give you a fully-formatted Wikipedia footnote you can paste in. Please just take 10-15 minutes, and go to the articles you have published so far, and use that tool to format your footnotes so they are nice, clear, and full. That way too, if the link is ever broken (due to websites changing), readers can still see exactly what book you mean, and find a better/current link. It's a very useful tool and I use it all the time, so good luck with it! MatthewVanitas (talk) 02:04, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Since I know nothing about the subject, it was not easy. If I've made any errors, please feel free to correct them. If you wish, you can explain to me what you would like to say, and I will try to word [express] it correctly. There were two things I wasn't sure about: 1) In trying to make the second-to-last sentence of the section Supplication of Abu Hamzah al-Thumali#Chain of authority grammatically correct, I had to delete something about "confirmed" or "confirming". If that needs to be in the article, you'll have to figure out a way to express it, or try to explain it to me so that I can put it into correct English. 2) Recited at night/in the evening or at dawn or recited at night/in the evening and at dawn? Now I've got "or" in one place and "and" at another. That's got to be made consistent. Corinne (talk) 00:03, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
1) For non-Muslim readers, you might either explain what "supplication" means in this context (that is, the particular meaning of "supplication" as it is used in this article), and/or link the word to an article or part of an article so readers can read more if they want to. 2) Also, even though the name Abu Hamza al-Thumali is linked to an article, you might think about giving a few details about when and where he lived and wrote. I don't see a single mention of a date or time period in the article. Corinne (talk) 00:09, 4 September 2015 (UTC) P.S. Why do you have "Hamzah" in bold at the beginning of the article and "Hamza" throughout the article? Corinne (talk) 00:13, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
1.The better sentence is The Shia scholars of biographical evaluation and historians believed that Abu Hamza al-Thumali's narration was accurate. If the difference appear between narrations, scholars prefer his narration and solve the problem. Also, hadiths or narration that have some connection to him are verified by scholars of biographical evaluation such as Najasi, Shaykh Tusi, Ibn Babawayh, and Ibn Shahre Ashub. The Sunni scholars have not confirmed him. 2. In the correct style, is better use or between these words (every night and dawn). Because the Du'a recite one time in day and Imam al-Sajjad, the fourth Shia Imam , invoked the Du'a in every night or dawn of Ramadan. Therefore, The correct sentence is Imam al-Sajjad, the fourth Shia Imam , invoked the supplication of Abu Hamza al-Thimali in every night or dawn of Ramadan. 3. I linked the supplication word to Du'a page and in this page readers can read more information about the word. Also, I added Du'a in the see also. 4. I added Abu Hamza al-Thimali section in the article and wrote a few details about him and his character. 5. The correct spell was Hamza and Hamzah replaced with Hamza.Saff V. Hallo Saff V. and Corinne. I took a look at the page, but it's really not my topic. I have no idea what would be common terminology and style of writing in this context, so I'm afraid I can't say anything meaningfull about it. i have added a link to "supplication," though; I didn't even know what that is. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at List of casualties in Husayn's army at the Battle of Karbala. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page. If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Hey Toddy1, You must selected keep voteI have tried to keep the article in a decent state since December 2011.[1] I have not tried to rewrite the article, merely to clean it up. I think subdivision of the article in 2011 was better than the one today (though it needed explaining). I put in the numbering, so that readers could see that the number of people allegedly killed was a lot more than the 72 mentioned by Tabari.
However, of late, I have had enough of the tendentious editing of POV-warriors who refuse to allow articles to have a neutral POV. So I commented, but did not say keep or delete. If you were interested, you could make the list a lot better. The most obvious thing to do would be to say which sources list which people. If you look at the current citations, some of them are rubbish and do not support the information. The only really reliable source on the battle is Tabari. So why does the article not cite him for the names that he mentions? Another thing the article should be doing is saying how each man died, if mentioned in a reliable source like Tabari.
You might also ask why does the article on Husayn ibn Ali not mention criticism of him. For example: he was a racist, he did not understand politics, and he split his community.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:05, 17 November 2015 (UTC) Possible format for sortable Wikitable.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:32, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Be careful with copypaste tagsHi, you seem to tag articles for being copy-pastes, while in reality they are not. I have already told you this at Talk:Muawiya II, but you have again wrongly tagged other articles (Aamir Liaquat Hussain and Lal Bahadur Shastri). Please be aware that another website can have the same text, because it copied the text from Wikipedia. In the future, ask yourself the following before adding a copypaste tag:
In case #1 you can add a copypaste tag. In case #2 you should NOT add a copypaste tag. - HyperGaruda (talk) 18:25, 9 December 2015 (UTC) Tips when assessing copyvioIf you find a website that has the same text as Wikipedia, you should check a couple of things first. Below are some things which may indicate that another site copies Wikipedia (=case #2):
If you see any of these, then the other website is likely copying Wikipedia (case #2) and you should NOT add a copypaste tag. - HyperGaruda (talk) 19:18, 9 December 2015 (UTC) Nomination of Muhammad al-Mahdi in the Quran for deletionA discussion is taking place as to whether the article Muhammad al-Mahdi in the Quran is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject). If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Can anything be done about this RfC?Hello Saff V. Since I had to close an edit warring complaint about People's Mujahedin of Iran recently, I've been looking at RfCs on the talk page to see how far they got. Check out this RfC about 'violent' that you opened on 14 October. The comments so far suggest a slight inclination to remove 'violent', but there is no activity on this RfC since 16 October. If you don't think anyone else will comment, do you want to propose that this get closed by an uninvolved person, for instance at WP:AN/RFC? But if some movement is still possible, can you propose a more targeted rewording that would enlist support from the other side? Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 16:34, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

Mifter (talk) 00:02, 21 November 2018 (UTC) Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Your comment on my TP
Khomeini on OTD Feb 1Hi, you wanted to feature Ruhollah Khomeini's return to Iran on Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/February 1 this year. However, if we do that, we won't be putting Iranian Revolution in for February 11 because we do not run multiple articles on the same topic very close to each other. Since this is the 40th anniversary of the revolution, I would think that the other article is more important this year, which means that I will take Khomeini's return out. KhumsHello: I went through the article Khums recently copy edited by a new member of the Guild of Copy Editors. I fixed a number of issues with the wording, fonts, and Wikilinks etc... One thing I did notice is that the citations are inconsistent and really need some work. In the "India" section I used this incredibly useful tool https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:ProveIt ProveIt and fixed a couple of the citations. When you select the template, Journal, for example it automatically places the article in quotation marks and the journal name in italics etc...
