Bibliotecarios in Spanish language Wikipedia.As you already know, in Spanish language Wikipedia a Bibliotecario is both a sysop and a bureaucrat. It was implemented long before I became a bibliotecario, so I don't remember where the policy came from, however I heard that, at the begining, it had a purpose of having a better response to fight vadalism, when the number of sysops were low: if any sysop was also a bureaucrat, in the event of a massive vandalism, any sysop in guard could promote other trusted fellow users to sysopship (temporally). I don't know if this was ever necesary. However it is now implied, when ellecting a bibliotecario, that the ellected user will have both sysop and bureaucrat powers. There is a potential risk, however. Some user with a destructive agenda could win the trust of the community and get elected bibliotecario before acting. Then, with the bureaucrat powers, he or she could promote sysopship to fellow vandals and produce havoc. This has not happened, but we know, when we vote, that we are giving this kind of trust to any ellected bibliotecario. Regards
