Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 822 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!
But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

I would like to know why the page Test Page For Learning was put up for "Speedy Deletion". The page was created for learning and informing people of the amazing things Wikipedia can do.
Maybe so, but it is not something that should be put in the mainspace, where we put all of the articles. Since this is not an article, then it does not belong in the mainspace. RileyBugz会話投稿記録02:08, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't know how to get it of of the "mainspace" if there is a way can you do it or teach me how. Gidman2003talk|Gidman2003
I will do it for you. You can find it here. If you want to move pages in the future, you can click on the "more" button at the top of the page and then "move". After that, you just have to choose what mainspace you want it in, and then the name of the page. RileyBugz会話投稿記録02:15, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
Page Mover
If you are a fairly consistent NPP reviewer, you may want to apply for page mover rights at WP:PERM, since this allows you to suppress redirects when moving pages, and is particularly useful when moving pages across namespaces (like articles that need work to an AfC draft, or inappropriate/test articles to user space). That way you don't have to request an XNR deletion afterward. TimothyJosephWood16:20, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
Hmm... well, you've got twice as many required edits, a few months more than the required time, and more than fifty pages moved. Usually the biggest thing you can screw up in good faith is suppressing a redirect when you shouldn't have, and if you do, you can always go back and manually add it back in. Anyway, it's a mistake you can fix yourself without having to bother an admin. So, I'd definitely keep it in mind. TimothyJosephWood17:03, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I'm going to second TJW here. It'd be really helpful to you, and the fact that you are weary about it shows why you'd be good with it: page mover is one of the rights that should be used conservatively, and you clearly already know that. TonyBallioni (talk) 17:09, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
Sorry I've been out of touch — I thought I was going to have more time during this break. (ha ha) I'm actually off again on June 1, but will try to kick in where I can. Of course, my library will be here while I'm there, but I'll only be away for about 3 weeks this time. Let me know what I can do to help! MeegsC (talk) 21:06, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
@MeegsC: That's fine. It would be nice if you could try and remove the misc. section and do some clean-up, which will make it much easier to do expansion. Referencing things not referenced is the top priority in my opinion. RileyBugz会話投稿記録23:08, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
FYI, I removed the BLPPROD since links to his official NFL player profile is a reference under that policy. Also I am the worst at sports, but at first glance he appears to be a technical pass of WP:NGRIDIRON based on this, but I could also easily be misunderstanding what the NFL game log means. TonyBallioni (talk) 21:45, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
thank you for your message about putting my article in draft, and for the instructions on how to move it out in the future! L jerry3388 (talk) 14:03, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
An RfC proposing an off-wiki LTA database has been closed. The proposal was broadly supported, with further discussion required regarding what to do with the existing LTA database and defining access requirements. Such a tool/database formed part of the Community health initiative's successful grant proposal.
Some clarifications have been made to the community banning and unblocking policies that effectively sync them with current practice. Specifically, the community has reached a consensus that when blocking a user at WP:AN or WP:ANI, it is considered a "community sanction", and administrators cannot unblock unilaterally if the user has not successfully appealed the sanction to the community.
Anthony Hamilton can't portray Bond because by his homosexuality, and as consequence the AIDS, he cannot portray. The gays doesn't like women and James Bond is an addict to have sex with the most beautiful girls. --23.247.147.5 (talk) 02:55, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
Well, one would need a citation for that per WP:BLP, and one would need an official statement to confirm that that is the reason why. Also, one should not have worded it in the way you did—I couldn't parse the meaning of it. RileyBugz会話投稿記録03:01, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
My Edit of The A Beka Book Aritcle-Are you serious?
First of all, I do not even know who you are.
Secondly, I have no clue as to how you were able to see my Edit to the A Beka Book page that fast.
Thirdly, Everything I said in the edit I made was correct, and correctly placed in the critisium section of the Article. The neutrality of the Edit is irrelavent, since it was correctly placed in the critisium section of the Article.
You obviosuly have never been home educated through high school in the middle of nowhere like I have, and then categorcially destroyed because of the garbage Education that you recieved that was not even a real and usable education to begin with. I have.
That is why I edited the article, because I felt that the Public had a right to know about the garbage education that this terrible company has produced. So that more students do not get categorcially destroyed by the idiots that write and produce this Cirriculum. And that the Parents know that it is a bad decision to educate their children using this garbage.Anonomous Person (talk) 21:27, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
@Anonomous Person: Well, edits appear live on the recent changes list, so there's that. I reverted it because, as stated, it did not adhere to a neutral point of view. Also, the claims made weren't even about the book, they were about the college. So, if you find the article about the college, then, if you can find reliable sources, write down the criticisms (but not like you did—say stuff instead like "The college's rules are criticized for being too strict"). Of course, one should take note to make the criticisms encyclopedic. If you can do that, then go ahead! Bring down the corporations, etc. But, to be honest, I would think that any reasonable parent reading the school article would know how terrible it is. They probably don't even teach philosophy, the best subject ever! RileyBugz会話投稿記録00:29, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Restoring James Allison (pirate)
Thanks for the review of James Allison (pirate). I will be restoring the content shortly. It's not unsourced; it's just all from a single source, and I though it would be redundant to cite the same one source over and over again.
I will re-work the page a little to make it clearer how the source material applies, and I will see if there are any other sources I missed. Thanks again! --TheLastBrunnenG (talk) 01:51, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Bonjour (je parle un peu de la francaise, mais je vais parler en anglais, parce que je ne parle pas beaucoup francaise). Somebody redirected it to another page (meaning that when you click on that page, you will instead go to another page). But, because the founder does not have any mentions in reliable, published sources (comme dans les journaux, les livres, etc), he is not able to have his own article. Fuzzy search will soon be added to Special:Undelete, allowing administrators to search for deleted page titles with results similar to the search query. You can test this by adding ?fuzzy=1 to the URL, as with Special:Undelete?fuzzy=1. Currently the search only finds pages that exactly match the search term.
A newly revamped database report can help identify users who may be eligible to be autopatrolled.
A potentially compromised account from 2001–2002 attempted to request resysop. Please practice appropriate account security by using a unique password for Wikipedia, and consider enabling two-factor authentication. Currently around 17% of admins have enabled 2FA, up from 16% in February 2017.
Did you know: On 29 June 2017, there were 1,261 administrators on the English Wikipedia – the exact number of administrators as there were ten years ago on 29 June 2007. Since that time, the English Wikipedia has grown from 1.85 million articles to over 5.43 million.
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to review my new article. I was wondering about a few of the things removed - such as the last source. I see how some of the content could be viewed as non-neutral, because a lot of the personal information comes from what Gara has said in interviews. But now the page seems almost lacking...I wanted to include a tidbit of information on his different businesses, but I guess I'm not sure how to do that in a way that won't get it removed again. Any suggestions?
Rtt11talk01:58, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
EDIT - just saw your message on my talk page as well.
I know anyone can post anything on YouTube, but how can I include videos I found that are from reliable sources but are published through YouTube? (ie clips from talk show interviews and the like)
RileyBugzThank you for your quick response! Do you think if I update the YouTube sources, it will be okay? I guess I'm also having trouble understanding what counts as promotional...like why I couldn't keep the line about him enrolling in highschool or the line about where he was born. I'm a new Wikipedian, but I've published a bunch of articles these past few months and this is the first one I've had any trouble with. I hate seeing those tags on the page, and I want to make the improvements and get them removed as soon as possible!!
@Rtt11: It should be ok as long as you cite what it originally came from. I recommend that you take a look at WP:PEACOCK, and make sure that you avoid those words to avoid sounding promotional. Also, you have to make sure that what you are writing sounds encyclopedic. This means that it has to sound like reporting the facts, not really telling a story (although it can come up to form something like a story, but that is pretty hard to do). Hopefully that helps! Okay! Thank you for answering my questions!! I'm sure you're pretty busy on Wiki and I really appreciate you taking the time to educate me.
Hello RileyBugz, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!
Backlog update:
The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.
Technology update:
Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements
The tutorial has been updated to include links to the following useful userscripts. If you were not aware of them, they could be useful in your efforts reviewing new pages:
User:Lourdes/PageCuration.js adds a link to the new pages feed and page curation toolbar to your top toolbar on Wikipedia

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I've been pretty careful since then not to get into any edit warring, but I do edit quite a bit on controversial articles, so it can be difficult at times. I managed to find a compromise in that particular case that both sides could live with, so at least it had a happy ending and I learned a lot from the whole experience. Cheers mate. Thanks. — InsertCleverPhraseHere14:58, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

Would you be able to provide evidence that it was me who "scared" away Coffee? I'm not here to argue with you, but if you're going to make bold claims, I'd like evidence. Coffee left almost immediately after being blocked (which, as it happens, I didn't agree with, in retrospect); therefore, it would be reasonable to assume that he left because of that. Coffee continued to edit long after I warned him about his incivility towards others, so I'd be very careful about speculating in this way. I'm saying no more on this subject as it would not be appropriate, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't speculate in over-the-garden-wall gossip. Thank you. CassiantoTalk19:56, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
@Cassianto: Sorry about that. I was just going from memory, and, like all people, my memory is nowhere near perfect. I struck my comment out, so hopefully that is that. RileyBugz会話投稿記録20:16, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for reviewing my article, Cameron Taylor, and the note on my talk page about providing categories. I don't usually create articles, but I'm trying to fill in red-links. Are there any tools to assign categories to an article? Twinkle doesn't seem to have these features. SophisticatedSwampertlet's talk about that18:35, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi! It would be nice if you could clean up the references—specifically, the cited text portion isn't needed. Second, it would be nice if you could create a status section. You can see the basic model for a status section here: mangrove swallow#Status. Another good model is the status section of the red-necked grebe. After that, do what you want, following the model of other featured articles, such as the aforementioned article on the red-necked grebe. RileyBugz会話投稿記録15:44, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
Oh yes sorry I had to go offline and it seems I didn't switch it. Yeah I will start with the status section for the time being --Kostas20142 (talk) 20:12, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
Eh... rate it however you want (conforming to the criteria laid out of course). I don't care much about the class of the article, as it doesn't really matter, as long as the content is there. But, I do know that I do care if it is a FA or not, as a featured star 1. feels good to have 2. shows that the article has been fact-checked and such. RileyBugz会話投稿記録14:33, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
Nah I am now involved so I will refrain from rating it(not saying that it is forbidden but still). However if we could improve it to GA it won't be bad either. --Kostas20142 (talk) 14:48, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
If you want to do GA rather than FA first, then you are doing it alone, because I dislike GA. I prefer to take all of my articles to FA first, as it makes it much less stressful (although I usually get comments from some of the other people over at WP:BIRD before I take an article to FAC). RileyBugz会話投稿記録14:58, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
Well... really all you need to do is flesh out the status section a bit more (like add threats and such) and do the same with the habitat and distribution section. RileyBugz会話投稿記録01:36, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Hello and sorry for late reply. Well I already have done so but the thing is that my watch list contains more than 1500 pages. Well, I Will try doing what you suggested --Kostas20142 (talk) 10:40, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
@Kostas20142: I suppose I will ping you then. Also, some tips on referencing made easy: first, check if there is already a reference on the page to what you want to cite. If you can then find a ref name in the source code, then you can just use it again. Second, use referencing tools. For birds, my favourite is reftag.appspot.com. It has a tool for both google books and for citing DOIs (a common identifier for journal articles). It is much easier to do a bit of searching for the DOI than to just write the ref out yourself. Finally, references should go after punctuation when you are citing the end of a sentence, right after a comma, etc. or, they should go right after what they cite. What I mean is that there should be no space between a reference and a word. Hope that helps. RileyBugz会話投稿記録15:46, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Soon. But, could you please provide the whole reference? Also, it seems the ref to Del Hoyo et. al is to HBW. I'll clean up the grammar and such when you are done with that. RileyBugz会話投稿記録16:47, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Well, the distribution and habitat section needs expanding. I can send you along the HBW portion for the habitat (which was sent to me by somebody else), if you want. RileyBugz会話投稿記録20:26, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi Riley! Earlier last month, you wrote this feedback for me: "@Nramesh: It seems the reason it was declined is because of formatting. First off, you should use section heads. You can make a section head using equal signs. So, if you wanted an early life section, you just do ==Early life==. Notice how I used two equal signs on each side. Never use one on each side. It seems that another problem is how you bold too many things. The only things that should be bolded are the real name and the stage name of the person. So, all those song titles should not be bolded. Hope that helps! RileyBugz会話投稿記録 17:18, 2 July 2017 (UTC)"
I have made the necessary changes and @DGG reverted my article and put it back for review. I would really really appreciate it if you could please take a second look at the draft and approve it! Thank you.
Nramesh (talk) 21:40, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my draft. I'm not sure how to make the article more neutral than it is. At the articles for creation help desk I was asked to refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayumi_Hamasaki for the tone of the page. I feel like my draft also carries the same tone. However, I may be blind to my writing after having worked on it for so long. Can you please help me edit it and make it better? Also, you mentioned that my sources were unreliable but they are all published news articles. I'm not sure which ones you wanted me to change. I would really appreciate more feedback or your help in editing the draft to make it better.
@Nramesh: Sorry for the late reply. Anyways, the page you linked may seem similar to your page because the subject of that article is actually pretty famous. Your subject, on the other hand, isn't too much. It needs to conform, as much as possible, to what the sources say, but in an encyclopedic tone. This means wording everything as neutrally as possible, and only making the claims that the sources say. Basically, try and phrase everything to be neutral. For example, list the notable collaborators like this: "Brodha has collaborated with xyz." Don't say things like "and more", or "big names". RileyBugz会話投稿記録14:40, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
