User talk:Renaissancee/archives/3RE : WikiProject Medicine - Hematology and Oncology Task ForceHi, I dont mind, all I do is for the best of the project, please ask for any help in starting that task force, its gonna be fun, by the way take a look at the cardiology task force, I started, that an tagged most of the articles related, but still there are many more to tag :-) MaenK.A.Talk 06:08, 4 June 2009 (UTC) TalkbackHello, Renaissancee. You have new messages at Dottydotdot's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template. QuestionHi Renaissancee, I noticed that you placed a template on the Ali Said Faqi talkpage, if you believe he deserves an entry on wikipedia, could you please leave your thoughts at this discussion?[1], thanks in advance!--Scoobycentric (talk) 11:52, 4 June 2009 (UTC) Ali Said FaqiDear Renaissancee, thank you for your re-classification of Ali Said Faqi. I was under the impression toxicology would be part of medicine. And I hoped for some input from that WikiProject regarding the AfD discussion by people with knowledge on the subject. Best regards, Crowsnest (talk) 15:01, 4 June 2009 (UTC) MediationWith regard to the Hey Slavs mediation-I have, in my last post, tried to start moving towards a solution. I would be very interested in your thoughts, especially if I've misunderstood something & got it wrong! Dotty••|☎ 19:35, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

AfDs and stuffHi Ren, I came across your Afd nom for 10/90 gap and have quite staunchly defended it. I then had a little nose around and saw your RfA where one of the comments was that you should work on article building. Can I suggest you withdraw your AfD nom, I can then reduce 10/90 gap to a small, meaningful, compliant article which could then be 5x expanded and nominated at WP:DYK along with Global Forum for Health Research which I resurrected yesterday and needs improving with inline citations. How about it? I'll keep this on my watchlist, so let me know here. Cheers, Bigger digger (talk) 13:54, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
<--Only a day to go, no change? Are you going to let this DYK opportunity slip you by? No worries if so, just thought I'd poke you again in an attempt to get someone else (not me!) to improve the article... ;-) Bigger digger (talk) 23:05, 9 June 2009 (UTC) RFA ThanksRfA thanksMifter (talk) 23:49, 6 June 2009 (UTC) Mediation CabalHi there, I noticed that you had were starting to become involved in the mediation cabal, as I would also like to do. I have been looking at older cases, and I was wondering if I could follow you around for a bit, and watch your mediations to gain experience? Also, I stole your mediation notes page, if thats okay with you XD. Let me know if you'd like me to delete it from my personal subpage. MacMedtalkstalk 01:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Some shameless thankspam!WPMED's scopeWPMED's scope includes not only all hospitals and physicians, but all medical agencies, medical journals, healthcare workers, charitable organizations, and related companies -- the whole infrastructure of medicine. You may want to consider the advantages of the conservative approach: assume that any article that has been tagged with a WPMED banner is within the proejct's scope, unless you have been directly told the specific kind of article is no longer within the project's scope. As always, you can (as I do) leave a message at WT:MEDA for questionable cases. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC) Hi there, I have noticed that you are also in WikiProject Medicine. As a high school student with a heavy focus on the sciences, and taking a full-day co-op at a hospital next semester, I was wondering if you thought it would be appropriate for me to join the project, or if it should be left with those with more experience (ie doctors, med students, etc.) thanks, MacMedtalkstalk 02:35, 12 June 2009 (UTC) == What article was it that I asked a question in the topic by accident?Omegakingboo (talk) 05:16, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

If you run across any, please let me know (perhaps at WT:MEDA?) and/or feel free to nominate them yourself. Thanks, WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:23, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Delivered by SoxBot (talk) at 03:16, 23 June 2009 (UTC) Welcome to the 1.0 Editorial TeamHi Renaissancee, Thanks for signing up for the 1.0 Editorial Team. We're currently finishing up Version 0.7 (once the badwords cleanup is complete, we should be ready for publication. We will be starting on Version 0.8 shortly afterwards, and we are hoping to use a script from the Wikitrust people to reduce the "badwords" checking (which has taken me several months so far). I'm hopeful that once that's in place, we'll be able to roll out releases very quickly, and this group will really get quite busy with planning releases and fun things like that. Please can you let me know if you can help out, and if so, where your interest/skills/experience lie. Thanks again, Walkerma (talk) 06:00, 26 June 2009 (UTC) List of skin-related conditions nominated as featured list candidateI have continued to work on the list of skin-related conditions, and recently nominated it for FL status. If available, your comments would be greatly appreciated at the nomination page. Regardless, thank you again for your work on wikipedia. ---kilbad (talk) 06:28, 28 June 2009 (UTC) WPMED tagsI've just found a bunch of WPMED-tagged anatomy articles at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:WikiProject_Medicine. This is a redirect for the actual page, and its presence is usually a good indication that it wasn't tagged/assessed any time recently (and/or by any of the regulars). It looks like there are some 600 articles using this redirect, and they're practically all anatomy pages. If you're interested in weeding a few out, please feel free. Thanks, WhatamIdoing (talk) 01:00, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

"Hepatitis B carries the greatest risk of transmission, with 37 to 62% of exposed workers eventually showing seroconversion and 22 to 31% showing clinical Hepatitis B infection.[10][11] " Is this in unvaccinated individuals? Needs clarification, no?. Reference #11 is from 1982 which would've been researched before Hepatavax was available (also 1982). I don't have access to the article to check. I'd think there's also more current information. Thanks.--MartinezMD (talk) 04:11, 14 October 2009 (UTC) The Wikipedia Signpost: 19 October 2009

Get involved in WikiProject World Digital Library!
The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!)Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization consisting of over 28,000 volunteers in more than 100 countries. The collaboration was formed to organize medical scholarship in a systematic way in the interests of evidence-based research: the group conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library. Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account. Thank you Cochrane! If you are stil active as a medical editor, come and sign up :) Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 19:54, 16 June 2013 (UTC) The Pulse (WP:MED newsletter) June 2014The first edition of The Pulse has been released. The Pulse will be a regular newsletter documenting the goings-on at WPMED, including ongoing collaborations, discussions, articles, and each edition will have a special focus. That newsletter is here. The newsletter has been sent to the talk pages of WP:MED members bearing the {{User WPMed}} template. To opt-out, please leave a message here or simply remove your name from the mailing list. Because this is the first issue, we are still finding out feet. Things like the layout and content may change in subsequent editions. Please let us know what you think, and if you have any ideas for the future, by leaving a message here. This is the first of a series of newsletters for Wikiproject Medicine's Translation Task Force. Our goal is to make all the medical knowledge on Wikipedia available to the world, in the language of your choice. note: you will not receive future editions of this newsletter unless you *sign up*; you received this version because you identify as a member of WikiProject MedicineSpotlight - Simplified article translation Wikiproject Medicine started translating simplified articles in February 2014. We now have 45 simplified articles ready for translation, of which the first on African trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness has been translated into 46 out of ~100 languages. This list does not include the 33 additional articles that are available in both full and simple versions. Our goal is to eventually translate 1,000 simplified articles. This includes:
We are looking for subject area leads to both create articles and recruit further editors. We need people with basic medical knowledge who are willing to help out. This includes to write, translate and especially integrate medical articles. What's happening?
I've (CFCF) taken on the role of community organizer for this project, and will be working with this until December. The goals and timeline can be found here, and are focused on getting the project on a firm footing and to enable me to work near full-time over the summer, and part-time during the rest of the year. This means I will be available for questions and ideas, and you can best reach me by mail or on my talk page.
For those going to London in a month's time (or those already nearby) there will be at least one event for all medical editors, on Thursday August 7th. See the event page, which also summarizes medicine-related presentations in the main conference. Please pass the word on to your local medical editors.
There has previously been some resistance against translation into certain languages with strong Wikipedia presence, such as Dutch, Polish, and Swedish.
Integration is the next step after any translation. Despite this it is by no means trivial, and it comes with its own hardships and challenges. Previously each new integrator has needed to dive into the fray with little help from previous integrations. Therefore we are creating guides for specific Wikis that make integration simple and straightforward, with guides for specific languages, and for integrating on small Wikis. Instructions on how to integrate an article may be found here [5] News in short
WP:South Dakota Status ChangeHello, my name is TCMemoire. I wanted to let you know that I changed your membership status for the South Dakota WikiProject from "active" to "inactive" because I noticed that you have not contributed to Wikipedia in one year. This change has no effect on your ability to edit SD articles, of course. If you do decide to become active on Wikipedia and contribute to the project again, feel free to move your name back to the Active members list. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach me on my talk page. Have a great day! – TCMemoire 03:53, 27 October 2014 (UTC) Suggestion to merge ?Hi Ren: If you haven't already seen it I left you a jest on this Talk page but on a more serious note I am wondering if it might not be a good idea to merge Genital tubercle and Primordial phallus? Aren't these terms synonymous? I mean they even use the exact same image file. I ask because I am not a medical person and I stumbled on these two terms at a forum discussing the social issues related to gender identification. 172.88.146.9 (talk) 20:15, 18 July 2015 (UTC) Hi, ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!Hello, Renaissancee. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
